    30,000 mile check up

My wifes 30,000 mile check up was due on her Prius 2009. She asked for a quote and it came to $342.00. Most of the items were checked with her 30,000 mile oil change.

I see nothing in the manuel about, replacing a BG Deposit control kit or a BG Fuel induction service? Does anyone know what this is about?

Are there any grease fittings on the steering system, underneath the Prius?

    Thanks

NO non and the car does not need a fuel induction service and I have never come across a BG deposit control kit apart from depositing money from your pocket into there account.

    I'd be looking for a different dealer/shop.

At 30k, we changed the oil. Maybe the engine air and cabin air filters. Did it ourselves.

At 90k, we had the recalled inverter pump replaced, so we did the coolant change too, which was actually 10k early.

Anything over a $100 sounds pretty darned fishy to me.

Your 30K service should come to about 50 bucks. You can change the cabin and engine air filters yourself. It's about a 5 minute job. Your dealer is trying to rip you off!!!

The inverter coolant may not have been replaced with the campaign. You can clamp off the lines, replace the pump pump, and just top off.
