Anyone have opinions on installing LED bulb replacements in the fog lamp kit?

These are a bunch of SMD LED's bunched together:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-H11-120...ltDomain_0&hash=item43aaf20c3e#ht_1942wt_1114

Then there are listings as "high power" LED's that seem to have more metal:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-pair-H8-H...ies&vxp=mtr&hash=item3f13d75218#ht_2765wt_907

Anyone have opinions and idea's as to which one's I should get and if they work just fine for actually lighting up the road?

The reason I am thinking about LED's is because I just installed 55W HID's that look awesome, and don't think they will look good with 6000k HID's with 4000K halogen fog lamps. Thinkin the white and yellow will clash.

    Thanks!

Never buy SMD LEDs as driving lights. They will not be bright enough. They're probably about 50-300 lumens. They're visible to on coming traffic but not bright enough for you to see. If you want something that you can see from the driver's seat, stick with HIDs or halogens.

I saw a 2012 Prius Two that was inside a Costco the other day that appeared to have LED fog lights on it. At least they were in the fog light area, maybe DRL's?

The 2012s have the LED DRLs in the spot where the fog lights were in the previous years. The 2012 fog lights are now in the same spot as the Gen2s.. the left and right side of the lower grill

Okay, I didn't have a chance to look at it closely. :)

Do not use HIDs for fog lights unless they are in a projector style housing!

 If that is the case then why does Toyota put LED headlights as an option on the higher end models? I am expecting the LED headlights on my 2012 to be visible and nearly as bright as the HIDs on my 2004.

The LED headlight system on the model 5 is much different than a typical $5 LED. They are much better than the HIDs on your 2004 which are pretty terrible. You'll be happy with your purchase. Just make sure the lights are aimed well. :)

What do you think of the "5000k Xenon halogen bulb" from ebay that I listed?

just want some lights that will help light the road and are some what close to my 6000K HID's.

The LED used in the Prius Five are high powered LED that generate over 1000 lumens, if not, close to it. There are 3 LEDs per headlight. The 5050 SMD LEDs used on most replacement bulbs generates 10 maybe 15 lumens each.

I have a pair of H11 PIAA fog lamp bulbs that I used in my 2010 and they don't fit in my 2012 Plug-in Prius. They just won't turn to lock in place at all, and I tried and tried to turn em'. The bulbs in the fog lamps on my 2012 PiP say they are H16 and I forgot the wattage listed on the back of the bulb, maybe 19w or 22w, something low like that.

i have fog LED 9 lights that provide very good DLR, mine stay on (with SW ready) with separate relay
the 55w lamps pull a lot of pwr if your concerned abt that
mine are on my profile but the visibility is better than the pict shows
