I've heard that the JBL amp contains the bluetooth module for the car. I know that the driver-side squawker on the dash is used when making a call. If I replace the squawkers in the dash and ran them to a new amp, is there a way to retain the bluetooth connectivity? I hope this make sense.

I would imagine the single comes from the HU and since the new amp gets the signal from the HU, you should be golden. In other words, I can't imagine there would be a separate signal for just the BT.

I think that the best way to be certain is to use the output from the factory amp as input for a pre-amp/processor (something like an MS-8, Bit One, DQL-8)...those will clean up the heavily processed signal and give you a suitable input for an aftermarket amp.
The audio prompts from the NAV as well as the incoming sound for bluetooth phone calls is integrated with the factory head unit and amplifier....the signal between the head unit and amp is a digital signal, so there's no good way to tap into it.

I have a CleanSweep and Alpine PD-5 amp installed today. The door speakers run through the Alpine and only the squawkers run through the JBL. I kept the JBL because I had heard you need it for the bluetooth. I want to run everything through the Alpine, if possible.
