Hi Im new to the prius forums. I will say that Zaino is a great product, however, I think chemical guys make a far more superior product. Deeper shine, longer protection, and easier to apply.

Their wax provides longer protection than polymer sealant? Don't think so. Nice girls though.

Not a Zaino fan (too many fanboys and limited availability).

Autogeek is a different story all together.

    In the last six months:

    Jug of Optimum No-Rinse
Six pack of Lake Country pads (and one Griots pad)
    Quart of Meguiars #105
    New Towels & Wash Mitt
    Grit Guards

What do you guys use to dry a car after washing it(cotton towels, microfiber cloth or chamois)? Everything I look at has some disadvantages. Brand names would help.

I just use an Absorber Chamois. Gets the job done but may scratch if your car is still dirty, or if you "drag" it across your paint. I hear good things about a Waffle Weave microfiber drying towel and I think most people use that. If you become a super anal detailer, we'll all expect you to dry your car via leaf blower :)

    1. Hose down with slow flowing water
    2. Use a leaf blower once section at a time
    3. After finishing each section, dry further with a towel of your choice

The less you need to wipe to get water off, the better.

I prefer cotton towels with all seams removed.

Have you used it 32k? I surely wouldn't recommend it to someone if it screamed "I'll scratch you." lol

I use Optimum No-Rinse (two bucket method), then do steps 2 & 3.

    Seamless towels are great.

If it doesn't say what the seams are constructed of, I am suspicious.

I use RejeX -- it is incredibly easy to apply and nothing sticks -- I use it on the wheels also. You need to apply it correctly -- but it is very easy. I also use some of the spray products -- for a quick fix.

If you use clay .. then the RejeX .. the paint stays clean .... I wash with Dawn prior to the RejeX.

All of my cars go to the car wash (except convertibles) -- better to be clean

I was referring to Chemical Guys Jetseal 109. In case you were wondering, Jetseal is an acrylic sealant. And an acrylic is a type of polymer.

Ok, thanks to you knuckleheads, today I bought the Meguiars and I washed, clay-barred and waxed Pearl. I only got the hood and driver's side; I'll get the rest done later. It'll be interesting to compare the two sides in the sun tomorrow.

I'm a big fan of the 3M car wax...and now a bigger fan of the 3M acrylic paint sealer now on the market, they don't really advertise it and available in limited places, I ordered mine online, did spot it of all places...Orchard Supply Hardware. Fantastic product reasonably priced...it's a 3M product, it's gotta be good, right.

Wow--nice pic. Was that pic enhanced with Photoshop, etc., or is it just Leica quality?
