I just came of the phone with toyota and:

They said they do no longer sell the toyota WS fluid to the public....

I gave them a mindfull, the guy said he would call me back, he has not done yet....

Why does toyota tend to be sooo stuck up now? they have built the most relaible cars in the whole world, but just look at the company now? I previously had trouble getting the atf for my old classic & the they want me to go beating around the bush for me gen II aswell...

they just dont want to help...

Put everything back together, with 4 litres of ws fluid, topped up the invertor with as mush antifreeze as possible, it started fine..

Ran for about 5 mins, ready light was on THEN:

    get a p0a08 error
    & then a p3000 error

running with a jumped battery did switch it to its original aux battery, but not trustworthy will do a load test..

hoping its just a 12v aux battery problem, but lets see...

Another PC user, juliolopezgonzales, just had P0A08, following an engine replacement. It means the DC converter is not working. I think his is a wiring issue. But in your case, it could be the inverter.

I don't think your power steering will work if 12V bus voltage is low, and ABS warnings lights are very common with that condition as well.

Well I got it back in the evening, & have not had a chance to check it out during the day because of work, but theres so much I want to check, & I am off for the rest of the week..

I just found a wealth of info, I am hoping its just a fiddly connction problem..

Just was reading these fantastic pages: http://techno-fandom.org/~hobbit/cars/prius-12V/

& really does point towards the dc/dc sensing issue hopefully...

    Wish me luck once again...

I cant wait to get this car going, My insurance renewal in 1.5 days, fixing this car would really be a touch for me right now...

Had it out today, tried it with oem battery & 2 other batteries (I had spare which are too big to fit in the prius, but used to jumpstart the prius if need be..)

starts off fine, but does have a charging malfunction, & as soon as I turn the lights on the mfd blinks & restarts sometimes...

I found my self stuck on the side of the road, I swapped the leads over to the second battery I had with me, it then drove me halfway home, again stopped, when it stopped & I tried to restart it would say P brake abnormal, apply handbrake on flat surfice...

SO I had a plan, I was already using a set of jumpleads, called my friend to come with an extra 1 lead & plugged in both my spare batteries in sequence, & then it happily hopped home...

Either the p0a08 error is major or somethings not right with the bleeding cooling of the inverter & the invertor pump as we know its not working to begin with...

BUT I went ahead & insured it so its up & running.. & on a high priority list to get sorted.

Fixed & on the road... thanks to all of your pointers...

Here is the BIG BIG update for people with p0a08 whilst working on thier cars... gearbox engine or inverter...

There are 2x grey plugs on the back of the synergy drive unit, 1 of those (the lower one) was in my case disconected, making the car not charge dc/dc aux battery...

The code it threw was the p0a08, & as soon as I connected this plug my battery voltage was up to 14v & recharging, everything was back to normal....

Its a very hard plug to see, if everything is back on the car, possibly easier if you have the wipers etc out of your way...

BUT just feel it, If its loose & moving around you know its not pluged into anything, & needs to be...

I thank all those that shed thier views, they all helped pointing me in the right direction...

May all your prius classic gen 2 & 3 live long.....
