I tried looking through the old posts about this and didn't see much help there... So yesterday I upgraded my phone to a Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket, which of course runs on Android (GINGERBREAD). So today, I thought I would try to play music through the USB interface hoping that the stock stereo system would see it as a mass storage device, but no luck. After about 10 minutes of tinkering, I was able to stream music through BT and I got on my way down the road.

Next time I got in the car, the car didn't recognize the phone for BT streaming and I was kind of in a hurry, so I just flipped over to XM and got going.

So, does anyone have good tips on how to stream music from an Android phone through the stock JBL head unit? Preferably through USB, but anything is fine.

you may have to enable mass storage on the phone for USB. as for Bluetooth streaming, it should automatically connect after initial connection.

I find that I have to turn off Bluetooth before starting the Prius. After starting, I then enable Bluetooth on the phone and all connects as it should.

I enabled the Mass Storage and was able to get music to play, but it was by folder on the entire phone, including ringtones and other sound files. I ended up removing my phone from the car's BT memory and re-synced it, then everything started playing the way I wanted to include my playlists. Thanks for your help!
