No, probably next Tuesday for some in California. Mine is expected here in NY at my dealership March 6th, one week later.

I'm guessing you'll be driving the PiP a whole lot more than the 2010 :)

I live in Minnesota, they will not be for sale here. I think they are for Coastal cities only. My Dealer said they didnt do well in extreme cold markets. I love my genII anyway. Good luck with the plug.

I live in Minnesota too and I will be getting mine in a few weeks. It is being shipped from California. They should be just as ready for the cold climate as your genII Prius (in fact, they come standard with heated front seats). I think your dealer would rather have you spend your money with him on a genIII (or wait until they are available here in 2013).

If you want one sooner, be sure to give Dianne Whitmire of Carson Toyota (California) a call.

Car in your possession? Why not just use any 15A circuit and unplug everything else, thereby making it a "dedicated" circuit? The PIP only takes 12A to charge.

I don't think he means the car, no one has theirs yet. It arriving in port doesn't count... :D Some in California should be getting them this Tuesday and on the east coast some of us should get em' next Tuesday.

That's what I thought, Being bisco in Boston. The Phyxis Leader should dock at Newark March 5 or 6. One to six days at POE, transporter to dealer one to three days, and then at dealer. I suspect I'll see mine mid March. A couple days either way won't matter. BTW, I installed the new 20A circuit yesterday along with the Leviton prewire kit. Fairly easy except for the long run in the attic. When I actually see the car in my garage, then the order for the Level 2 charger will happen. How about anyone else? Level 2 in your future???? All this is still a big secret!!!:spy:

My dealer says mine is still ETA at the dealership March 6th but I'm betting it may change. I am CLOSE to Newark though so who knows.

I already got my Level 2 evse all ready to go!

YMMV, but I can't see Level 2 being a value for this vehicle given its small battery size unless you really need the turn-around time cut from 3 to 1.5 hours. Mine will always be plugged in the night before and used for a commute the next morning, so there would be no benefit in cutting the charging time in half. Probably a similar use case for the large majority of PiP buyers. Now if I had a Leaf or a Volt I could have seen Level 2 making a lot of sense.

Having been given a demo 2010 Prius PHV back in 2010 for 6 days I know I can benefit from a Level 2 charger. Living where I do 100% of my local activities will be in EV mode and having to wait those 3 hours before leaving again was murder at times.

It all depends on a persons daily activities.

I had the info in there but on a few occassions people deleted or messed with my data (even if accidentally) and it became annoying having to continually fix it. :(

Very clean and simple install. Your run was about 55 feet shorter than mine, and a lot more accessible. What was total cost? After reading the various technical posts, I decided to use 10-2w/ground cable for my long run. Can't recall who, but someone posted they did the same and said the cable didn't even get warm (less resistance) when charging their Volt.

Will you be getting one Coach? Or are you waiting to hear reports back from the initial drivers to make your determination?

*Edit* Nevermind, I saw your post in FHOP. Congrats on the house! I guess you'll be driving your PIP vicariously.....

Leviton contractor did a site visit last thursday. Our install is going to be a bit of a challenge, but should be doable. Leviton is supposed to get me a formal quote today. I have no illusions that the EVSE will be installed before I get the car (which will be in the next week or so. Car is at the port now).
