I am a car novice with little cash. I hit a deer and my headlight fixture on the drivers side cracked. WIth the help of a youtube video I was able to remove the entire fixture. The bulbs were still intact and I took a picture of one of them. It is featured below. I would like to purchase a replacement fixture off of ebay. I am looking at this one.
    Ebay item 190609612984

Does this look like the correct one? The seller stated it is from a 2006. I think the 2006 had two types of headlight fixtures, one that is compatible with 2004 and 2005 and another type compatible with later models? Is this correct? Will this one fit my 2004?

Secondly, my bulb looks to be HID? Is this correct?

If it is HID, can I buy a regular headlight fixture? I still have the old fixture. Although it is cracked down its center, the parts that held the bulbs are intact. Could I easily migrate these parts over to the ebay fixture?

ANy help is appreciated but please dumb it down.

Unfortunately you need to stick to the 2004-2005 assemblies. They have a different ballast and bulb than the 2006+ models. The 2006+will physically fit but it had better comes with the ballast and bulbs because your ballast doesn't fit into the headlights assembly.

Also be 100% sure all 3 tabs are intact on whatever you buy. Most eBay assemblies have broken mounting tabs. :(

Ok, I will stick with the 2004-05 assembly.

I bought the car used so I don't know if the lighting system is HID. I think it is Hid based upon the look of the bulb I pictured.

If it is HID, do I need an assembly already HID outfitted or can it be a regular assembly? Like I said, I have all the sockets things intact in the other assembly.

After reading another thread, I believe I need a HId assembly if I do have HId.
Can someone confirm I have HID based upon the bulb?

Yes we could. Do you have fog lights? If so you have HIDs.

The bulb in the picture you attached is an HID bulb.

The bulb that is pictured was in my headlight assembly. In the assembly there was also an amber and a clear bulb, above where the HID bulb was. There also are lights underneath the bumper. Fog lights I assume? So I must have hid? If I buy an hid assembly, it should be fairly simple to install, just the reverse of the previous extraction, right?
