    It seems like odd timing, seeing that example today. I was fully expecting it to be the real thing today (since I expect that Dianne could possibly see the real one today...on my car!)

    Looking back at the first page I'd say austingreen was the closest, trollbait was closer on the electric figure, but much farther off on the gas consumption and AER.

    Yea, a lot of us expected slower electricity consumption. Everybody overestimated gasoline consumption!

    Its a shame it had to dip into the gasoline really though, 0.2 gallons per 100 miles is practically nothing in the average 11 mile blended drive (just over .02 gallons).

    Knowing the gas kicked in at 6 miles, can we say if more capacity would have allowed it to finish in EV or if it is a motor rating or other technical issue thing?

    It must be the US06 cycle that triggered the gas usage. To put it in "Volt" term, 0.2 gallon per 100 miles is like getting 500 MPG. That puts it into perspective. When the gas engine kicks in at rare high power demands, it sips gas.

    Cannot just be US06 since that would needing ICE in under 2 miles in. (I don't think they are using US06 for PHEV yet.. just UDDS and highway).

    If you look at the Highway cycle

    I could see it needing the ICE at about 4+ miles in..(sharp accel). It can probalby do the whole UDDS

    which is 7.45

    So maybe its the weighted average like (4 * .45+7.45 * .55) = 6miles AER.

    I'd say we all did pretty terrible LOL

    My excuse is that Toyota decreased the traction battery usable capacity considerably from the prototype. Many of us calculated about 290 wh/mile battery-to-wheels -- not too far off, but Toyota beat us by about 5%.
