I just bought a 2012 Prius 5 and am trying to get Entune to work. The non-audio apps, like Bing work fine. If I try Pandora or the internet radio app it appears to be playing but I don't get any audio.

I have an Android phone connected via Bluetooth and I can play audio files from my phone with no problem. Has anyone else run into this with Entune?

It could be that the apps require a USB cable connection. I don't have my car yet, so don't know for sure. Let us know what works.

From the Entune website: (under Multimedia there is an entry for iPod but not Android)

    USB/iPod® [6]

Got an iPod® [6]? Hook it up via USB data cable [7] to the USB port on your vehicle's console and get full iPod® [6] connectivity and control, right from the touchscreen interface on the multimedia system. Browse songs, artists, playlists, just as you would on your iPod® [6].

The USB port also allows you to play MP3 music files stored on a USB [7] flash drive. Simply plug your compatible drive into the USB port located on your vehicle’s console and your multimedia system will play your favorite tunes.

    -------

I know you have an Android and not an iPod. But, you may have to connect it with a USB cable. You may also need to turn on your USB data connection on your phone.

In this video, Dave Lee, Toyota demos Entune. He talks about his Droid (Android) being "paired" which is Bluetooth, but he also has it connected with a USB cable.

I see this problem all the time too, in my 2012 Prius Four with the upgraded audio. The app is connected, and Pandora appears to be playing, but there's no sound. I think what's happening is the Entune app is making a Bluetooth data connection, but another audio source has the audio connection tied up.

I haven't found the simple, foolproof solution yet, but I've had good results with doing one of the following (usually in this order):
    - On the car's audio system, Switch over to "BT Audio", let the music start playing, and then switch back to "Apps".
    - On the phone, close any audio-streaming apps, including Entune, and then reopen Entune and let it reconnect.
    - Stop and restart the Bluetooth service on the phone. This will force the data and audio services to reconnect.
    - With the app running in the foreground on the phone, turn the car off and back on. This reestablishes the BT connections, and also restarts the car app. It just takes a few seconds, but obviously requires you to be stopped. I do it at a stoplight.

The last option almost always works, but it's the least convenient, and obviously not possible if you're on a highway.

Only the iphone needs to be plugged into the USB port. The android plugged in is mainly for charging.

What I have found to work, is I deconnect Entune on the android device and then as I start the car I "reconnect" all the services (phone, music and internet).

I have found sometimes when using an app on the phone for streaming through the Bluetooth Source on the Entune reciever, the Pandora entune app (or option) sometimes will not connect. I then again disconnect all options and reconnect.

Of course one simple solution is to use the android device with the Bluetooth Source on the Entune receiver and use apps on the phone for all music services.

Well, I just tried it again and this time the internet radio app worked and Pandora produced and error message: "Pandora Error". It's possible that Pandora won't work with my phone, a Motorola Droid X2. However I didn't change anything that I know of to make the other app work. I guess it must have been some setting either on the phone or the car.

Anyway thanks for all the suggestions.

I've had this issue and found Entune / BTAudio is far more reliable when I don't use the USB connection. For charging I use a cigarette lighter adapter.

Not true. I don't have to plug my iPhone into the USB port for it to work - in fact, when I do, it tends to get confused over where to send the audio. I use the cigarette lighter port for charging.

(This is for the Premium HDD Nav, not the Display Audio, which I don't have and can't speak to.)

I have Prius v 5 w/ATP. I have iPhone 4 (OS 5.1) and Android (2.3.5) Both get no audio consistently. The iPhone has had audio 2 times but drops audio upon restart of car. For the iPhone I have the usb cable connected to the usb port. For the Android I tried both the usb cable to charge but got message BT wanted to disconnect so I plugged into the cigarette lighter but still no audio. I have tried booting phone into entune before I start the car - screens move more quickly but no audio. My cell service is Edge but I have tried when I had 4G on the Android and 3G on the iPhone. The two times the iPhone had audio one was 3G the other was Edge. Entune appears buggy at best from my testing. If anyone has a answer or solution we all will appreciate the information on how to get consistent service.

Try turning on the Media Volume on your phone. It worked for me :)
