I am about 4 weeks into an expected 8 - 10 week wait with little to no news from the salesperson who took my order. :noidea: Is anyone else waiting on an order getting more information? If so, please share your secrets on how you have been successful. :thumb:

My dealer told me that they would have more information on my order when they get there mid March allocation sheet in. I'm guessing that will be at the end of next week. Hoping then they will have a little more info for me. We shall see. I hope this doesn't turn into a 4 or 5 month ordeal.

Unlike some manufacturers, Toyota does not has a process for actually ordering a specific car configuration. The dealer can preference (I believe that's the word they use) a particular configuration to be included as part of an upcoming shipment by communicating it to their regional office. The regions will attempt to accommodate the request, but my understanding the dealer doesn't know anything more until they get a list of their incoming allocation, which is a short period before it arrives at the dealer.

Contrasted with BMW, for example, where you configure the car and you can track the car's progess through the factory and shipping process.
