HEIJIN looks like it will arrive at Benicia about 12 hrs ahead of its original ETA of 2pm local on Sunday. Right now, it's not too far outside the Golden Gate.

Hmm, how long should it take to have an update that the car arrived at the US port? I will be checking with our dealer tomorrow when I take our 2007 back in for it's AC to get fixed (could not get it fixed Sunday, since Toyota Financial was closed (noon sundays), and thus could not be called for authorization on the platinum warranty.....) order status/historyOnline order submitted 11/17/2011Online dealer agreement Online order confirmed Manufacturing month confirmed Your Plug-in was built In transit to port 2/12/2012Arrived at US portI would expect it to have arrived in the US by now unless it was lost at sea... Our car should be as far as I know going to the port of Long Beach, and then by Truck to Tucson AZ. -Harry
The updates from Toyota seem to lag by at least five days. In other cases, some people reported not getting some of the updates at all. Checking with your dealer on the status, etc. is a good idea.
My car was built on Feb 8, and was in transit to port on Feb 12. It was sent on the ship Eminent Ace, which arrived in Long Beach on the morning of Feb 28. My car was delivered to Carson a couple of days later. If your car was on that ship, and everything points to that being the case, it seems like it should have made it to your dealer by now. BTW, the website has yet to show the arrival on "My Order" page.
Picked up my silver PiP last night at Bob Smith Toyota. Woo hoo! The craziest part? I kid you not... while we were working on the paperwork, someone from a Nissan dealership was doing a LEAF transfer from one dealer to another (about 60 mile drive total) and ran out of juice, so they stopped at the Toyota dealership to recharge. What a PR nightmare for poor Nissan, but maybe a great commercial for Toyota! Sorry Leaf owners, I'm sure it is a great car, but the irony of that story was too much to resist.
My dealer confirmed my PIP was coming into Portland on American Highway due in Portland on 3/10 at 6:00 a.m. They also said it would take 2 to 3 days after that to get my car. Here's hoping that's true. Perhaps yor car is on the same ship. I also noted that the Toyota web site said my car was built on 2/28, but the dealer said it was actually built on 2/16.
Congrats! I think my car is on the same ship left Japan on 2/28/12 was scheduled in Portland on 3/12/12. 6:00 am. So hopeing it's early into Port. I hope you are right!!
retired I am retired, too. I live in Spokane and am hoping that my PiP is on the Century Highway No.2 which us due in Portland on 3/17. This: AMERICAN HIGHWAY - Vessel's Details and Current Position - 9205976 - 351124000 indicates that your ship is expected to dock on Monday the 12th of March in the morning. If you click on "Map" just to the right of latitude/longitude you will see a map or a photograph of the port on Portland. Nothing will happen until the ship comes into range which should be very soon.
Thanks, I have been helping it. Row Row Row Thanks again, I kind of thought it would be some time tonight that it would be in range. Scheduled at 6:00am may be it will get in a little bit early. Do you have any idea how long to Spokane 2-3 day's? Thanks Allannde
retired It's about 1470 miles. If you are a "straight through without stopping" kind of driver you can do it in two days. I would take three and not push it. There are no motels near Appleway Toyota. The Oxford Inn and Suites on Indiana is about 6 mi mostly east of there, reasonably priced and nice. It is right off I-90 near the Sullivan Rd. interchange. There are other motels. Enjoy the trip!
Thanks Allannde, I'll check out the Oxford Inn & Suites, I think you're right 3 day's travel sounds about right, relax a little bit. Do you know about how long it takes to get the car out of port and to the dealer?
retired First, what did the folks at Appleway tell you? They have lots of experience. I am not expecting my car to arrive for at least a week after the ship docks. There are two ship loads a week to clear out of the Port of Portland which is one clue. Each car must go through customs, be checked for shipping damage (most have none), have accessories added, and any general additions which the U.S. of A. requires that are not usual in other countries. Then cars must be loaded on trains. Some trains go north to Seattle, some trains go south, some trains go to places east, and one goes to Spokane. When the trains are loaded they can leave. It is probably at least a day to Spokane unless the train must stop and unload cars in the Tri Cities which could add to that time.
I did not know there were so many hoops to jump thru. a few day's ago Appleway did not know anything, no arrival no vin# nothing only that it was in the system. Thanks for all the helpful info I appreciate it alot! Back to waiting
So tell me this, gurus: If the CSAV Rio Grey left Japan on 3/3, when can I expect it to arrive in New Jersey? I've been thinking 4-5 weeks, is that about right? Another question: do these ships stop at multiple ports, or can I reasonably expect that it'll head straight to the New Jersey port? Excitement is mounting! Bob
