    Hi everyone,

I am wondering if anyone has or knows where I can find the code to turn on 1-step door unlocking with the key fob? This is listed as a feature the dealer must do for you, but I have already successfully turned off the reverse beep using the awesome tips on this forum!

I just can't seem to find any info on the 1-step door unlock. I want a single push of the unlock button on the key fob to unlock all the doors at once.

    Thanks for your help!

This should be something you can do without the codes or the dealer being involved. It's in the owner's manual, but unfortunately my manual is in the car current so I cannot reference the specific page.

    Hi Bill,

I wish this was something I could do without codes or the dealer, but unfortunately that is not the case.

I have already adjusted what happens when I unlock the car via the door handles (SKS), but the manual does indicate that changing the 2-step key fob to a 1-step key fob needs dealer assistance.

If you find something to the contrary, please let me know.

    Thanks!

    Greg

With the key fob, one click of the unlock button unlocks the driver's door. A second click unlocks the rest of the doors. The two clicks have to be very close together to work properly.

This is in the owner's manual.

    Hi Bill,

Thanks for the help. Page 48 is the section that talks about the door handles, which I have already adjusted. I am looking to turn the key fob into a 1-step unlock of all the doors.

In the 2011 manual, this can be found in section 6-2, page 597.

    Thanks!

    Hi JD,

Thanks for the tip about that.

What I am looking to do is *change* that behavior so only a single press of the key fob unlocks all the doors. This is referred to as "1-step" instead of "2-step".

I would like to do this using my ODB Bluetooth interface and Android cell phone with the ELM 327 terminal.

All I am missing is the code sequence to make it happen!

    Thanks,

    Greg

    Greg,

I looked in the owner's manual and did not see a way to change the 2-step unlock button on the key fob to a 1-step unlock other than through a dealer and the customizable features.

I actually like the 2-step unlock sequence. I drive by myself 90% of the time and like SKS unlocking only the driver's door when I approach the car. This prevents someone from jumping in on the passenger's side unwanted.

If my wife is with me, then I use the key fob and do the quick 2-click and unlike her door also.

Sorry about that Greg. You are absolutely correct. I actually never use the fob to open the door, so I had forgotten that it didn't function the same as grabbing the handle.

Unfortunately, you do need to customize this setting via Techstream or equivalent. This is another case where Toyota felt the customer should not have access to this function.

    Hi Flying,

I used to have a Gen 2 that I changed to 1-step unlocking. If memory serves me correctly, that was reversible and was accomplished by some combination of gyrations with the dashboard controls. I bet if you Google around you'll find a "How To" posting about this.

Now if I could only get my hands on that code I'm looking for....:)

TS definitely, but did I read somewhere about pressing both lock and unlock buttons simultaneously, until the door lock activates, then releasing them both? Maybe I am reading too many threads ;-)

Unfortunately, that procedure only toggles the unlock-all function for the SKS.

If that does not seem counterintuitive  I am beginning to feel that every Prius should include a Mongoose cable as standard equipment

But on the positive note, it makes me feel better about buying one

Just did this on my Five (with NAV) Sunday-
It's done through the MID you have to have the IGN on- that's pretty much all I remember at this point cause I just got the car Saturday and I've made too many custom adjustments to remember the details.
It was actually labeled something like "Remote 2-Press Unlock" or some combination of those words in the menu. Once you set it to off via the MID- when you press the unlock button on the remote all four doors unlock.

It is pretty crazy IMO- to set the fob button behavior you have to go through the MID in the car. To set the SKS features (touch drivers door unlock all doors) you use the buttons on the remote fob for programming.

If you'd like- I'll look at my setup tonight and retrace the exact steps to disable the "Remote 2-Press Unlock" on my (Five) Prius.

EDIT- Here's something I found on the forum describing how to get into the customization mode- IIRC- the IGN had to be "on" otherwise you don't see the "vehicle" options...

From page 124 of the Nav. System owner's manual:
    Vehicle customization
    Step1 press setup
    Step2 touch Vehicle
    Step3 touch Vehicle customization
Step4 touch the desired items to be set
    - For a list of the setting that can be changed, refer to Owner's manual.
Step5 After changing the settings, touch "save". ...

EDIT # 2: Found a link for Lexus http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=remote%202-press%20unlock&source=web&cd=3&sqi=2&ved=0CFsQFjAC&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lexus.com%2Fpdf%2Fservice%2FHS250h_with_nav_LPS.pdf&ei=zYVfT-_lBsHk0QGiovSxBw&usg=AFQjCNE4yAJLbfONsLxWLJdcCVCsb5Ycng&cad=rja , but it's the same procedure for Toyota. Same procedure for getting into the vehicle settings too. Specifically see page 2 of the PDF for the "Remote 2-Press Unlock" feature...

I found an "unlock all doors" that any of you could do on a Gen-III (I think). I have a '12 Prius II. Take the key fob and get near the sensors. Press and hold both lock and unlock buttons simultaneously until a graphic with all 4-doors open appears on the display. Good to go. If you want to go back to the 1 door unlock do the same. It will then display the driver's door (only) open.

That's not what the OP was asking. What you did was changed the SKS door unlock function, which was pointed out in the middle of this thread and in several other threads in this forum. ;)
