I am new to the hybrids! I am happy to report that I am totally enjoying my almost 10 day old Prius V Five in Classic Silver Metallic with Adv Tech Package! After driving 300 miles in the city, we are averaging 47 mpg.
The Prius V Five rides smoothly and has all the room I would ever need! It is such a nice car and I have received many compliments! Here's looking forward to many happy years together!

Just bought a V five ourselves and really like it! Getting 40+ MPG calulated and still learning how to drive it.

My husband and I are still in the same process of learning to drive and understand the V five as well. Before leaving the dealership, we had an almost 2-hour run-through of the car with a Prius "expert". Honestly only retained 1/3rd of all that info!!!!! Now it's time to hit those manuals. . . I can't believe how thick they are!!!

MadCity, if it helps there are a lot of videos on the Toyota site that may help. It is information overload with these incredible pieces of technology. I had to laugh when the survey asked us if someone explained the car in detail. They tried but my eyes glazed over after an hour. We are still in the first month and learning too. W

I actually gave up trying to read the manuals unless I was looking for something very specific. I'm a tech head, I'm more of a diving into things and looking up stuff if I haven't figured it out. I'm now into my 8th week of owning the car, it took me a while to figure out how to put in a picture for the startup, and that was mostly because I found out that having your audio system, even paused, accessing the USB - Can't load pictures. Also not mentioned in the manual... >.>

Anyhow, most of my questions end up poking the Dealer more so than the manuals as I tend to go "Hey, are their updates for this?" And the MPG thing is only learnable from here, as no manual is going to be as nice to explain how to drive differently. :)

Thanks for the suggestions on the Toyota site. Will definitely check it out! I had to laugh when I read your post! My husband (who isn't that tech savvy) - his eyes were beginning to "glaze over" too after the 1st hour of the "tutorial". What an INFO OVERLOAD!!! Maybe should break it up with a "lunch break" between sessions!!!! :D

The sad part of it with me is I'm a geek to the core. I love technology and soak it in whenever something interests me. There was just too much info to take in at one sitting for me. I did better pressing buttons than the tutorial. The headlight washers scared us all. Our 6'7 salesman moved like a pro ball player avoiding the spray. We had a good laugh on that. It does get easier as I learned how things were arranged. The one thing I was determined to know before I left was if I could jump the car if need be. 2 service advisors and the service manager got the first easily and struggled with the second so we learned together. The owners manual is indeed hard to read. I went through it but wasn't impressed. I've learned more here than anything. W
