    Probably not. But they could confiscate the assets of the deceased, effectively disinheriting the heirs.

    In Shakespearian England, they dug up the bones of the long dead to make room for the newly dead. (See Hamlet.) Of course, embalming slows decomposition and increases the length of time you need your grave.

    They could solve the problem by eating the dead instead of burying them. Or make them into dog food if people are squeamish about eating people. As an advocate of recycling, I want to be made into hot dogs when I die. (I'm too old and probably too tough for steaks.) I'm also an organ donor, but I don't know if my organs will have enough useful life left in them any more.
