I'm selling my 2005 prius with all the bells and whistles. I'm debating getting a new prius C four or getting a used 2010 with all the options. Is there a big difference in the gas mileage? I believe the cost will be about the same for either. Also, I don't see homelink as an option for the prius C. Anyone own both a 2010-2012 and a C? Opinions appreciated. Thanks:)

what is your avg speed per tank? (for reference national avg is 35MPH)

if it is ~35 or lower you'll better MPG in C if it is higher then Gen3 will be on par or better.

I just traded in my 2005 Prius for a C package 2. Compared to the 2005, the C is far peppier, fun to drive and it suits my urban driving situation better as I rarely used my back seat or did much highway driving. The handling is stiff but feels a lot more responsive. As for mileage I am getting 5-10 mpg more per trip but as you know, mileage varies per terrain, temperature..... I do miss the shift dongle but I don't miss all the touch screens as having everything on the steering wheel is much better for me. I think the 2005 might be the better ride if doing a lot of highway driving but I love my new C and I can get my road bike in it.

I would guess our average speed to be 45 to 50 per tank. Kind of leaning to the used 2010.

I guess I prefer all the techie touch screens and bells and whistles. I also wanted the homelink which I don't see offered on the C.
