So we have threads with everyone raving over the C, but figured we could do one where we list our complaints. Things other may want to know or be disappointed to find out. And maybe some suggestions on how to remedy them.

On my list of "things I miss"

Automatic headlights. :( Don't think there will be a way around this.

Lit vanity mirrors. Not a big deal, but for the price could have been included.

Leather steering wheel/shift boot. Especially on trim 3 and 4. Can get a Wheel Skins which may help, if they come out with them.

    Mudflaps. No option currently.

Still love the car, just really miss not having automatic headlights.

    Thoughts from my test drive:

Pictures online of interior dash make the interior seem larger than in person.
    Acceleration to highway speeds lacking.

I'm coming from years of driving a Subaru wagon. Will take a little time to adjust, but I can live with it.

    1. Lack of backup camera in any package
    2. Excess glare on 6.1" EnTune display (hard to see when sun is low)
    3. User-hostile EnTune menus (will take a while to learn)

There are lots and lots of pluses! I am overall extremely happy with my "C"!

I wish the steering wheel telescoped farther toward the driver to get a more comfotable driving position, I miss having cup holders up in the dash area like my Fit had, and they could have put the lower headrests in the back seats for better visibility.

Automatic headlights. :( Don't think there will be a way around this.

I looking into attempting to adding this on my new model 4,
looking like it is very doable, just did the add of homelink mirror with backup camera,

    see link

    http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...ifications/64812-automatic-headlights-24.html

I looked at the writeup and took the a look at the wiring around the our steering wheel, and it very similar.

don't know if i want to do the auto headlights project or the auto wipers and headlights project

    All of the above plus:

A-pillar wind noise at highway speeds.
    Harsh ride
Horrible Entune system. 3D map circa 2003, all useful features locked out while moving coupled with poor voice recognition renders the system nigh useless. You know it's bad when your family breaks out in laughter at some of the random things it comes back with. "Navigate to 123 Main St. Port Jervis, NY. Entune response: "4215678"?

The steel wheels and drum rear brakes scream cheap.

And as always, Toyota's cheap rear cup holder but I guess I'll never be back there anyway. And the map lights seemed really cheap to with a switch instead of just pushing the lights themselves.

I am also not a big fan of the 4 spoke steering wheel but have adapted. Totally love my C though, these are just minor quirks.

Same wish for steering wheel telescope further toward driver. I really don't want to sit close close to the dashboard.

I have the same complaints as everyone else here:
    1) Automatic headlights (this is my biggest complaint!)
    2) No backup camera (the one in the rearview mirror is pretty pricey)
    3) You can't control the level of heat on the heated seats
    4) My interior is black Softex, but why do the insides of the driver and passenger doors have to be light gray?! It would like it better if it were also black.

There seems to be a pretty big blind spot on the right side. Of course I traded in an ancient Honda Accord to buy this so maybe I just need some adjusting time.

I have a c Four. With regard to automatic headlights, I know I can turn on the daytime running lamps, and they turn on automatically when I start the car, and off automatically when I turn the car off.

I also agree with a previous complaint about excessive glare on the 6" display.

I wish the Entune apps could work through bluetooth, instead of needing to connect directly to the USB jack.

I also wish the car came with a backup camera-- just because it is very misleading in guessing just how close you are to the car behind you when backing into a spot. I know there's not much there (bumper), but even when I THINK I'm only inches away, when I get out after parking, there inevitably seems to be another 2 feet of space. (Better than the opposite, but I wish a factory installed cam was an option-- to still work with the 6" display).

I also wish I could see the remaining cruising miles on more than one screen (I like to keep mine on the ECO score or ECO savings screen).

Don't get me wrong, I'm 100% happy with my "c"... But, since this page was created to gripe... Well... There you have it from MY perspective.

It needs a better sound system.
Passenger airbag light is kind of annoying.
Entune could be more user friendly, there are a few things I haven't quit figured out such as text messages. Also wish that I could choose an exact folder for the picture slideshow (really no big deal).

It should work fine via bluetooth. I've gotten Bing, Weather, Fuel Prices to work just fine on a 3G connection but I have problems getting Pandora to connect.

The fact that I can't tether my iPhone as a phone and my new iPad (with Verizon 4G hotspot) as the internet at the same time. When I select the iPad, it tells me it has to treat it as the phone, losing my ability to call. A couple extra steps that I wish I didn't need.

Also the autoplay of the thing I was listening to when I shut off the car is AWESOME (when I am alone) and SUCKS (when I have people in the car), especially a podcast prone to swearing when I pick up my son from school.

The seat belts. It doesn't sit right on me and there is no way to adjust it (at least that I can find.

The automatic headlights are my bigest complaint because I know Toyota knows how to do them my '96 Camry had auto headlights.
