Mine have the Goodyear's too, but not same as the Assurance Fuel-Max tires I bought last year for the 2010. The tread pattern is not the same and they are only rated for with a 44 PSI maximum, not 51 PSI like the older ones.

My guess is either Goodyear have improved the tires or they are actually different for the Japanese market.

I did not get the Goodyear's, and I wondered if the advanced got better tires.

Nope, both my dad and me got the Yokohama Avid S33's... I was a bit disappointed seeing them on there, but I don't know, are they in fact good tires? I couldn't find if they are in fact LRR tires. If they are not they should never have been used on a PiP IMO.

The AVID S33D is indeed a LRR tire and many PC members get great gas mileage with them. There have been many complaints about tramlining or quality issues like cupping, however. I decided to ask Yokohama for a trade in credit towards new tires. I ended up getting the new AVID Ascend as a replacement.

The Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max comes in two flavors for the 195/65/15 size. The OE version sports a lower speed rating (S=112mph vs. H=130mph), lower temperature rating (B vs. A) and lower max pressure (44psi vs. 50psi). While you may never drive 130mph or even 112mph, the H-rated tire would be a better choice as far as tire construction is concerned. It is a stronger tire and less likely to suffer catastrophic failure because of the additional plys or caps and because it will dissipate heat better than the S-rated tire. Keep this in mind come replacement time. :)

The construction difference seems to make the OE quieter, more like the Goodyear touring tire.

Aye but it could also come at the cost of gas mileage if the reduction in noise is caused by tire deformation. :)

Tirerack.com lists the Bridgestone Ecopia EP20 in addition to the Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max and Yokohama AVID S33D. Anyone get those?

I'm planning on switching out my tires post-haste. The terrible traction and noise of the Goodyear Integrity tires taught me the importance of quality tires last time.

My Advance came with Goodyear Assurance, it was shipped to the Northeast.

Well the battle between which one is better begins!

    Yokohama AVID S33D
    Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max
    Bridgestone Ecopia EP20

    Thanks,

With the base at $32K+, you would think it would come with Michelins, but as we all know, the Yokohama AVID S33D is a cheap tire rated at Treadwear 320 and Temp B and Traction B. This is probably the most disapointing aspect of purchasing this car. My Camry Hybrid made in Kentucy came with Michelin MXV 4's. Enough said. Toyota skimped on various PIP parts knowing the buyers would buy anyway.:spy:

Weren't all the PIPs, Base and Advanced, built in the same factory.
    Why the different tires?
I got Yokohama AVID S33D on my Basic Plug-in.

Did the tech have a Random Choice of Goodyear or Yokohama?

Did anyone get 3 tires of one manufacturer and a 4th tire of the other ???
