Well, I did get the Prius PIP and picked it up on 3/15 in VA. Blizzard Pearl and the basic model. This is what I like(not sure about loving it yet) about it:
    - most important and top of the list is the gas mileage.
    - love the technology just because I am a techie person
    - my husband put in the 240 electrical outlet so it take about 1.5 hours to charge
-like the way it drives and handles on the road
    - love the blizzard pearl color

    Dislikes:
    - I was surprise to see that the interior was a DARK grey. Toyota may want to look at changing this to a lighter color for fuel efficiency. It gets very hot inside when out in the sun.
    - remote AC, find this to be a waste of energy. You have 30 feet to start the AC , the interior is very hot due to the dark grey, and when you open the door the ac stops and so all of the warm air (not cold) is diffused out (I understand why thy did this but it still is inefficient in every sense of the word).
    - tires don't seem to be the best in the market - the price for this car warrants better tires

Question: Has anyone tried the remote AC when it is hot (80 degrees and above) and your thoughts?

Is there a way that I can change from nav system to radio easily?
The schedule of the recharging (I scheduled it for 3am), it looks like I have to press the timer everytime I want it recharged in the am, is there a way that I can just set it and when it is plugged in it automatically does it?

How do I know whether I have received all the technical turn ons on this car? Since it is a new model I don't get the feeling they know the car well and as a result may not turn on certain functions to this car (these are functions that I do not have control over)?

    Thanks

    Hit the "Audio" button.

Not from the Prius Plug-in. People have suggested using using a Kill-a-Watt with a timer:
    P3 - Kill A Watt GT

Yes the remote A/C is rather, umm, ineffective due to its limited range. My solar roof/venting is way more effective and efficient with interior heat buildup.

My suggestions from hot south Texas are to get and remember to use a quality windshield reflector and install window tinting: rear doors and hatch as dark as you can stand and rely on backup cam at night.

    hope this helps

The charge timer button must be pressed prior to a plugin that you wish to delay the charge.
If it were set "automatically" your car would not charge if you plugged it in, say, in the middle of the day, wanting a charge.
Just push it the last time you come home for the night and plug in.
