For me, there seems to be about a 4 or 5 day delay for the web site to update. I've heard others never received a final update.

Where are you guys seeing update status' on your actual car? Mine was on PYXIS too and I'm dying to know when the dealership will receive it.

My car was delivered to Long Beach by the Pyxis on Monday too. Since the Toyota site's info lags (or isn't updated at all), I checked with my dealer yesterday. Their "real-time inventory" system showed that my car was still enroute to port! What that really meant was the car had not yet been scanned in at the port -- even though I believe it is parked at the port waiting to be processed.

My dealer estimates an April delivery to me based on their info. They suggested I check back with them next week for more precise dates. In the past they said two weeks after port delivery. Based on Dianne's updates for her dealership in Carson, they are expecting their cars that just arrived on the Pyxis to be ready for customer delivery sometime around this weekend.

Soooo.... based on all that, my guess is that it will be 1-2 weeks for mine to arrive in San Diego. Make your own guess! :)

I got the scheduled prep date and dealer delivery date directly from my dealer. Call yours, they should be able to give you the info.

I'm still confused though where you are all finding info on your vehicle online. Does anyone have the link? I have the VIN # on my new car.

Your dealer can look in the Toyota system and should be able to tell you what ship your car is on. VIN # are assigned at the U.S. port. Until then, there is only a temporary VIN in the system. What other info are you looking for?

There was a special order site for pre-orders of the plug-in (we registered last summer and ordered in November). For all other cars, you are at the mercy of the dealer for info.

Oh I see, it was only for the PIP! Okay that's what I was wondering. Thank you.

I believe the VIN numbers are assigned to the cars when they are manufactured, not when they arrive at port. I received my PiP VIN through correspondence with Toyota before the car arrived at port. Keep in mind the VIN appears in many places on the vehicle, some of which are difficult to access after assembly. Assigning the VIN at the delivery port would be too late.

My PIP is also on the Pyxis. My North San Diego County dealer is less than helpful. They are too busy to look in their computer and give me an update. Yesterday, the salesman told me two weeks to get my car, as a general guideline. Really? And Dianne's customers get their cars this weekend?

It appears that for the first time in decades of Toyota ownership (since my first new one in 1976) that I am going to be very dissatisfied with my Toyota dealer.

The total cost of this car, our the door, is going to be approximately $44,000. I preordered this car, sight unseen. My dealer had to make NO EFFORT whatsoever to make this sale, and yet they treat me like I'm a bother. I'm so frustrated that I may never buy a Toyota again.

If any of you get your Pyxis car delivered, I would certainly appreciate hearing about it, especially if in the San Diego or Orange County area.

i have the same issue with my dealer. i think they see it as one sale and have no plans to ever sell another. they will begrudgingly take my $33,000., they didn't know anything about the car or the ordering process and now that they have my deposit, they aren't going to make any effort to keep me happy.

Yes, that sums it up. Very disappointing. I moved to this area almost four year ago. It would have been nice to locate a great dealer. I have two Toyota's sitting in my garage.

I plan to visit the dealership and speak with the sales manager. If that yields no results, I will call the 800 number for customer service. None of this may help, but at least I will be doing something.

Frankly, it's hard to read about all the excitement and fun of those getting their PIP's and not be able to share in that. Apparently, asking for even a guesstimated delivery date is just too much.

Still, it's going to be a great car. I won't let this unsatisfactory experience ruin it for me.

Sorry you guys are having a bad experience. I think a discussion and/or email with the general manager is appropriate. Seems they would want to be aware of this. I know sales people are rewarded for selling, but they need to think about the future sale, the repeat business, and their word-of-mouth reputation. The most successful dealerships think ahead and work on the next sale to the same customer during the current sale to the customer.

I deduced it by the production and shipping timing and then got confirmation by corresponding with Toyota directly. My dealer was not able to confirm it until later -- close to when it was delivered to port.

Page back in this thread; it has lots of great info on the ships, schedules, etc.

"In transit to port" means it is on a ship and ready for the trip across the Pacific. Erica said so. So you watch the Toyohashi port for ship departures which are going to your port that match that date. If you missed it, someone who is monitoring this thread can probably help.

It worked for me. My PiP is in Portland, Oregon and may be in its own garage in a week or two!
