Very excited tonight to pick up my Black Sand Pearl Prius C III with the 15" alloy wheels and bumper protector. I bought it last Friday, but the dealer said they had a heck of a time trading with another dealer to get the car...They were turned down by many apparently......I can believe it!! Can't wait to play with it all weekend and get it all waxed up. I Setup Entune but have not played with it yet...

I said bye bye to my Infiniti G37xS...Great car, but only 19mpg combined...time for a change!!

It was a 13 mile (8 miles highway) drive home from the dealer and I got to practice all the techniques I have been reading about on these forums...and got 60.5 mpg!!! I love this car!!! and the Prius Chat forums!

Congratulations. The 15" alloy wheels look so much nicer than the 16" in alloys.

for a dark color car, if you're going to use rejex, I'd recommend you top off the rejex with a quality carnauba wax.

I've used this in the past on dark colors with great results...

congrats. i find that because of the metal flake in the paint it looks good longer than my straight black ones (benz and harley). does not look dirty as fast i should say. much nicer wheels than the factory wheel covers i had. :)

Black is a tough color to take care of I had 2 black cars and as long as you use a high quality wax that will make it easier.
    Looks great ... Congrats !!!

If everyone drove a Prius C the world would be a much safer place!! I think the mpg game makes me a much more relaxed driver and I don't feel deprived of any fun doing it.

Same here...my wife thinks I am nuts....calls me an MPG Nerd! I love it! I told her that in order for her to drive the car she needed to watch Bob Nagy's video 3 times ....that did not go over too well!

    It is a great video:

Congrats! I also said goodbye to my 2009 G37x. Bittersweet day, but I'm saving a ton on gas already. Freeway merges require a lot more planning, though..:)

Yes they sure do...but if you mash the pedal, the C does move very nicely. Not like the G37, but the trade off is well worth it. Plus I am finally out of leasing...bought the C!

I would appreciate any opinions on what color might be better the black or gray. Did you see the gray before getting the black?

How good are you at polishing and removing swirl marks?

If you don't enjoy waxing/polishing then get the grey. Black requires a lot of work to maintain and if you let it go it looks like hell and make you as the owner look lazy. Sucks but it's true. :)

At first I thought those trip screens were sorta useless but now that I have a similar one on my GenIII I think they are kind of cool. When you get over about 250miles on a tank the average mpg changes rather slowly so it is hard to judge whether you drove well on that last trip or not. The trip consumption screen tells you how well you did. For instance, I was at about 300miles on the last tank when I needed to make a trip to my girlfriend's work and run a few errands. I was at approx. 56mpg indicated average and when I ended the trip I was still at 56mpg average plus a couple of tenths. The increase appeared insignificant and didn't tell me much. Then I turned off the car and the trip consumption screen appeared and showed I had averaged 65mpg over something like 26miles for that trip. We all know the fuel used is pretty insignificant but when playing the mpg video game it is kind of a big deal. :D
