Here is a strange one. I have seen it twice during the last 3 days.

My car was stilling show EV miles remaining even through the battery display show HV bar for the battery and the battery was full. One time it happen going down hill the it showed regen of the EV battery the second time today it showed I had 1.5 miles to go but with HV battery bars at 100%. I was doing over 50 MPH both times.

    Anyone else see this yet?

The PIP has one battery. When the charge drops below a certain level the remaining charge is reserved for the hybrid mode. If the traction battery is charged full and you regen as your driving you can over charge the battery and the system will dump the extra power by bringing on the ICE.

Yes i have been on 0 displayed EV miles, and recharged up to 2.1 miles of EV on a long hill which i was able to switch back to pure EV mode.

    Okay
Not sure which "Prius" and "model" you are referring too?
However, if you have Gen 3 (regular) or Gen3(PHEV) you can go close to 60mph and have capacity to drive 14 miles on pure ev.
You may want to hook up scangauge to see all your "real" data....

Here's what I have observed over the past 3 weeks with the car. When the EV range gets down to 0.7 miles, the battery icon switches from a solid battery to a battery with 8 segments. It continues to count down the number of EV miles until it's at 0, at which point the car reverts to normal HV mode with the battery icon still showing 8 segments. At this point it's like a normal Prius. If there is sufficient regen, like from a long downhill, the battery will switch back to a solid icon when the EV range gets to 0.8 miles. Up until that point, it will still show the normal HV battery icon. So you have to reach a certain threshold of charge before it switches back.

One other thing I've noticed is that when I've depleted my EV range and the car switches to HV mode, the battery icon usually bounces between 7 & 8 segments. I think I've seen it drop down to 6 segments once. In the old Prius, I frequently would drop below 5 & 4, and oftentimes would see it drop to 2 and sometimes 1.

First, there's an EV and EV Mode, which are different. EV is just indicates the ICE is not on (for example, you can be in HV mode and the EV light can be on). EV mode is where it you can drive in EV so long as you don't go into the PWR range of the Hybrid System Indicator (HSI) after which point the ICE turns on. In HV mode, you can drive in EV only up to the mark halfway between the ECO and PWR ranges of the HSI.

Second, the EV miles is shown during HV mode. This is not unusual. Try manually switching to HV mode before you deplete your EV miles and you will see that EV miles is shown.

Does a Liftback display EV miles? If not, then it would have to be a Plug-in.
