There is another thread about this, but this is a GREAT price. I bought mine Prius III with Solar/Moonroof and I paid $26,152.00 + T&L. I think dealer invoice is ~ $25,900. I did a lot of shopping around and playing dealer against dealer to get this price.

Good Luck,

Hi! I have been lurking for a little over two weeks now and this is actually my first post. I am currently in the market for a Prius III and have a contact at a Toyota Dealer who is willing to give me any Prius I want at invoice + $200. I was looking at getting a Prius III with NAV and Solar/Moonroof but I was shown an invoice of $27,696. He was willing to show me the invoice to let me know that he wasn't trying to make money off of me. But I'm so confused as to how you all are able to get a Prius III at around $25-$26k. Are the invoices that different from the West Coast to the East Coast?

I was pretty happy about this price before I read this thread and another thread mentioning a Prius III for around $25-26 as well, but now I am a little weary of the $27896 price that I am about to pay. Can someone help me try to understand this vast difference in invoice price? I have a copy of the invoice faxed to me while I was still on the phone my friend's contact at Toyota so he didn't have time to fudge the numbers I would think.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

OP, get the sunroof option. Prius III sticker price vs. Prius III w/sunroof sticker price is a difference of $2-3k...

I am getting MSRP minus 3000 for Prius III with solar sunroof package.
I feel 27.6 is very expensive. I am getting quotes of 24k for Prius III with out solar package.

Fattymoocow,
Go to KBB.com websight and price the new car prius (there are not many options). That is what I did before I bought my Prius. The price I paid for my Prius III with Blizzard Pearl ($200 extra), Solar moonroof ($1300.00 invoice), and floor mats (around $80.00), was $26,152.00 + T&L in the San Francisco bay area.

Again, Good Luck!

Oh, that's my target price! OP, I'm in Bay Area, too. Could you please share which dealership gives you this quote (in PM, maybe?)
THANK YOU in advance!

I got mine from Vacaville Toyota through Dennis and Deberah Bruns (the internet/fleet sales group). I also got a quote for the same Prius through the fleet sales manager for $26,200 @ Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa.

Good Luck

Hi! Thanks for your response back. I looked on KBB site and this is what it says:

MSRP $27,825
Fair Purchase Price $26,885

Dealer Invoice $25,894
I don't understand how the faxed invoice I received is soooo much higher than what you all are getting quoted at. I'm actually in Richmond, but my contact at the dealership is in ATL and was willing to give me invoice + $200 on any Prius. The Prius that I wanted had to be classic silver metallic with dark grey interior and they found one on a different lot and can pull it for me from a different lot. He faxed me the invoice (uploaded to Google Docs but since I don't have five posts, it won't let me include a link...)

And I feel like the things that are making this particular Prius go up so much is due to the following things:

- Rear Bumper Protector ($69 on Toyota site, I would never have chosen to get this by choice)
- Carpet & Trunk mats (I know they include on all cars so this is fine $225)
- 6 gallons of gas (no idea what they've added into the bill for this)
- Auxilliary cable and iPod adapter (no idea what they're charging for this)
- Nav + Entune (this is fine because this is what I wanted)
- Solar Package (this is fine too because I wanted this) $1,500
- Toyoguard Elite (no idea what this was until I googled it, I can't link since I don't have five posts yet, but google "Toyoguard Elite)I mean it sounds like they tacked this roadside assistance, protection for the car and stuff onto my car but I won't even be in GA to use it. I don't understand why they can't pull this out of the price because I'm paying for a service I won't be using and it's kind of not fair. I asked about this once and they responded to me that they couldn't do anything about this because this wasn't a car that was on their lot, and since they are pulling this car from a different Toyota lot that they had to charge me for it since they would have to pay invoice for this. And I have NO idea what they're putting into the invoice for this service cost..

I'm just so lost right now, any help would be great. Any suggestions, tips, and etc? This is the first car that I have ever intended to buy on my own and I'm extremely new to the car buying business so any tips or help would be GREATLY appreciated!

I would use truecar.com & edmunds & kbb and have dealers email you quotes. Talk to them on the phone for prices. Use the best 3 quotes to negotiate. You know what you want, so it should be easier. If you don't want all those extras, get the car from a dealer who doesn't have them or negotiate a price without all that and then order one. Get the car you want, not what they happen to have on the lot.
I don't know about toyota gaurd elite, but all toyotas come with "toyotacare" FREE which is 24 hr roadside etc., nationwide

also don't get suckered into the extended warranty. if you really want it, there's a dealer/member here who gives awesome prices, much better than regular dealer prices

Hey! Thanks for your suggestions! I actually went into the dealership and got myself a car yesterday. I ended up getting a Prius 4 at $29,400 out the door with a trade-in. I got $1,400 off the sticker price so I was pretty happy with that. Thanks for your help!

FattyMooCow,
My Prius GenIII liftback came with everything that you mentioned except the I Pod cable and the rear bumper protector and it had a FULL tank. I do have the Nav/Etune, Solar Moonroof, and my prius came with 2 year/25000 mile maintenance pkg which includes 24 hour roadside assistance, so for the 25000 miles all routine maintenance will be free. and as I said earlier, my Prius is Blizzard Pearl which is $200.00 extra and my price was $26,152.00 + tax and license. I bought it on 2/26/12 and because I wanted it with the Bisque interior, they had to do a dealer trade with another lot.

I hope this info helps.
