I did it just to revive this thread.. not. Originaly I did it because my daughter said the prius is gay. I kinda agreed with her on the styling part. Now it just fun to see all the strange looks and stares. :) Pics are on my album.

go to the dealerships like everyone else did and find the emblems that fit it. Sorry, was in a rush when I typed that.... Sounded kinda "SHORT" when I read it back! I meant it friendly! :) That's how other members found the right size, tho. Me? Well I bought about 60 Lexus emblems until I ended up with ones the right size! lol

I would put something other than a brand emblem. Like transformer emblem.

Man...as if owning a Prius is not polarizing enough, the subculture within creates even more division among us as a group with this mod.

So nobody else here thought that spending $500 on a pair of emblem is kinda expensive? The circle "T" doesn't really bother me, I do agree that Toyota needs a new brand logo because what they have presently is ugly!

The Gen3 Prius could easily be a Lexus line up model if Toyota have thicker windshield and windows, better looking plastic for the dash and interior, tighten up all the loose parts to remove all the rattling and squeaking, add alot of sound proofing for a quieter ride, more lush and comfortable seats with lumbar support, etc etc etc. After doing all of this the car is no longer affordable and consumer would rather buy a BMW, Audi or Mercedes.

I have to admit, the "L" emblem does look better especially on white with the white background, very clean. However, it's not my cup of tea. To each their own.

There are definitely subcultures within the ownership population of the Prius! That was a great way to describe it! Some owners want purely a JDM look, some a more sports car look, some a flashier look (cough), etc., etc. I don't think I ever drove any other car where people get so bent out of shape over one another's modifications. I'm sure it exists with many other car brands, but I've been lucky enough to have missed out! lol! I've modified other cars before, and people have always either said good job, or else they just kept quiet after another member did a modification to his/her car.... But HERE!! Wow! Some people just seem bent on putting down whatever mods other members do. Fortunately, there's an equal amount of members who are very helpful and supportive of one another. They make it enjoyable to visit this forum, and have been a real asset! So thanks again to everyone for their positive feedback and all the instructional help they've so generously given to help other members personalize/fine-tune their Prii!!!

$498 will be worth it to you to make everybody think you're a fool ??? Well .... OK then ..... go for it !

Sorry about your situation, but the whole idea is really silly IMO. Especially for that cost.

Well, I'm sure you feel justified in your broad overgeneralization of saying that "everybody" will think me a fool......however, spend a few months worth of time googling/researching the fact, and you will learn the SHOCKING fact that this is as normal a modification in the world as is tinting your windows.....and (shudder) is practiced commonly by those large companies who MAKE the various modifications for our cars:

I like the Lexus emblems on your Prius. I don't see it as posing at all. This thread has more hate in it than any thread I've read on any of the forums I frequent. What a bunch of whiny bastards.

The most ironic post was on page five. One dude says you look stupid, yet his avatar is him posing in a black Air Jordan t-shirt with his shades on while looking away from the camera. :nerd: LOL!!!

I guess this looks ok if your goal is to confuse the heck out of a bunch of people. It does look plausible. But if I were going to do an emblem swap-out I would go for something like this: :D

Now this is an entertaining thread.

My 2 cents. If the corporations spends billions of dollars to condition us to have certain associations to certain brands. I say we might as well use it against them. I for one have to say seeing an "L" on that Prius make it look like a different car! That's no accident, Lexus spent a lot of money to "train" us. Those super bowl ads aren't cheap.

I don't understand all the hate since especially if we were in the birth country of the Prius, this would be a non-issue. It's not like OP slapped on a Ferrari logo or something.

I agree it is very cool to see the Lexus emblem.

Just be careful, here is why I can't do it, even tho I want to.

My fireman friend has been retrained more and more to do extractions from cars because of all the new hybrids. Using the jaws of life he needs to know where to cut the car open and not get electrocuted by the drive batteries. If they mis-identify the car it could be bad news.

    my2cents.
