I look forward to reading your posts about your road trip. We are currently visiting our daughter in Ohio, a 2200 mile trip from our Ca home. Had the PiP in time for the trip, and seriously considered taking it, but ultimately decided to drive the Lexus. Have wondered ever since how it would have handled the trip. I figure it would have gotten at least 50 mpg at mostly 70 and 75 mph limits, while the Lexus averaged about 27 on premium fuel. Would have been nice to have the satellite radio, too.
Anyway, good luck and safe travelling!

148 miles and 64 MPG with just one charge is excellent! What speed are you setting cruise to? Will you log your recharges, if any?

    Happy (and safe) travels!

if you're going to travel I-40 thru TN, Cracker Barrel has installed level 2 charging stations at restaurants in the so-called "Tennessee Triangle" of Chattanooga, Nashville, and Knoxville, about 24 locations in all.

been meaning to take a jaunt up to Chattanooga and have some breakfast and a charge to check one out.

    Enjoy the trip!

Here's the toll free numbers for ChargePoint and Blink

    ChargePoint - 888-758-4389

    Blink - 888-998-2546

They should be able to activate a charger for you.
These numbers are from the back of my RFID cards.

The MPG meter is accurate. That's a change!

I'm blown away  61.8 MPG actual on road trip ... that is a big improvement over standard Prius. That is so much more than the EPA estimate in HV mode. I hope it keeps it up. I don't know of any other car of that size, anywhere that can go that far and be that efficient. Maybe Insight I could do it. Or Wayne Gerdes in any hybrid.

In a '40 MPG highway' Cruze or Focus, etc... in 9.11 gal, you would have gone 200 miles less. And I know that initial charge didn't cost much.

Did you charge up a time or two more? or just charge from last night?

Thanks for the reports. What is your average consumption for the whole trip now?
It would be interesting to know the results of having used EV mode every time you exited the interstate for food/fuel. Then traveled in "blended" mode while on the interstate; HV mode but with EV selected.

Nope ... Blink can't ... but MAYBE in a year or so (don't hold your breath as they're having 'issues' of all kinds) according to their tech support. ChargePoint? So far, only THEY can start their chargers up remotely.

You'll find thAT the Blink magnetic strip will fail faster then most other cards in your wallet. I mentioned it to a couple others when they brought up that their cards died. It's too bad they can't get with the program on replacement cards a bit faster. Maybe if they sent out TWO cards, one would last until the replacement card arrived. :p

    Hello PR Prius,

Keep us informed on your trip. I have a regular Prius, 2010,
that on a trip we usually average in the low 50 mpg's calculated
    with speeds 60-70 mph.

Now on secondary roads with speed 45-60 mph the mpg's
are mid 50 mpg's calculated. Our mpg gauge is off
about 3.5 mpg over reading. I see you gauge is pretty
    much accurate.

49 mpg at 75 mph is really good considering the speed.

Sorry to hear about the sand/gravel damage. Some truck drivers simply don't care about the damage they cause by not properly securing their loads. In California, it is a citable offense, but CHP officers are spread too thin to catch all the violators. Bad anytime it happens, but especially so on a brand spanking new car!
