Lol, your car looks tired with those eyelids, like Kobe Bryant's half-shut eyelids. It's cool though. Cause Kobe Bryant is the greatest.

    HEY PRIUS CHAT FOLKS !!!

The latest Modification to HB II has arrived !!!

Many thanks to the great folks at TANABE USA for the SUSTEC ANTI ROLL STABLIZER BAR aka SWAY BAR for the Front !!!

    Here's the complete story !!!

Picked up the Sustec Anti Roll Stabilizer Bar at the TANABE USA (Tanabe USA Inc.) Headquarters in Torrance, Southern California on 08-21-12 ...

Then went to see my friend Mike over at Tustin Toyota for a Professional Installation !!!

The Tanabe Sustec Anti Roll Stabilizer Bar came COMPLETE with Installation Instructions !!!

Here are pictures during our installation ...

HB II getting lifted for ease of installation ...

The process of removing the Sub Frame and the OEM Anti Roll Stabilizer Bar in view ...

Once the OEM Anti Roll Stabilizer Bar was removed we did a comparison of the two ...

And noticed the Tanabe Anti Roll Stabilizer bar was thicker and more rigid !!!

The Kit also included NEW BUSHINGS !!!

    Completion of Installation ...

    VOILA !!!

After Installation of the Tanabe Sustec Anti Roll Stabilizer Bar we immediately adjusted the alignment. Mike recommended that whenever the suspension is modified / enhanced that an Alignment is recommended.

All in All I am very pleased with yet another amazing product from TANABE USA !!! Whether your suspension is lowered or not, you will benefit from the Safety and Improved Handling from yet another great product from TANABE USA !!!

If you have any questions regarding this product feel free to contact JAMES or DANH at TANABE USA at :

    HEY THERE JILL E !!!

I really love the improved handling and steeriing from the Tanabe Sustec product. It feels more sturdy and leveled during cornering. Whether your Prius is lowered or not it can benefit from this great new upgrade !!!

    Rodney,

I noticed you got rid of the eyelids that made your Prius look so sleepy. The shaven airflow bumps don't look too bad exposed?

I think the pic(s) in that post were from a 2010 posting.... I thot the same thing, though, when I first saw the member asking Rodney a question regarding those pics. Then I went back and saw Rodney's pics there were from a few years back! lol

edit: I see now, also, that the posting he just made about the Tanabe mod is minus the eyelids. So, I guess you and I were correct after all in seeing the missing eyelids. I was noticing them gone in the post just before your post where the other member was asking him a question about the front license plate. That's where I noticed there were no eyelids and then went back and saw that Rodney's posting was from October 2010. But, they are definitely not there on the latest posting! I noticed them because my headlight garnishes are sitting in boxes in my room.....with no plans of putting them on now. I bought them a LONG time back....BEFORE I had my headlights all 'pimped out' on the inside. They told me that I shouldn't put them on after that because the garnishes would cover/block some of the lighting in the headlights. $268 plus $75 shipping....sitting in a box. Sigh.... lol

    HEY FOLKS !!!

The MBRO Front Flasher post was dated in 2010 prior to the Eyelid Installation in 2012.
And the Tanabe Stabilizer Anti Roll Bar post was the most recent (08-28-12).

In regards to the Eyelids : They have currently been removed for an upcoming mod to be unveiled soon !!! It will be reinstalled once completed.

In regards to the light pattern : The eyelids do cover up the single bulb / parking light above the headlight however, the eyelids do not cover any of the beam pattern of the headlight low/high beam.

Hope this helps to clarify !!!

Clean mods, Rodney. Does the front sway bar work WITH the strut brace or can you install it separately?

You can install separately. With both on, the steering gets more responsive. There's less of that "play" typical with the Prius (or even most mainstream Toyota products).
