OMG! So my PiP was on the Indiana Highway, which docked in Benicia this past Monday at 1:19 pm (yes, it's true - I know exactly the minute - watched it on the maritime tracker site!)

I live in Sacramento - a whopping 80 miles from Benicia. So here it is, Saturday, late afternoon, and still no car at the dealership. THey did call me to assure me that it is definitely my car- that they will call me as soon as it arrives- that they are trying to check on when it might be delivered.

Why, oh why does it take so long to get from the ship to the dealership? The more time that passes, the more suspicious I become that something is not right. I know I'm just being a worrier, but still, this seems like a long time!

Did everyone's baby take this long to get from port to dealer?

8 days from Newark, NJ to Rochester, NY. So 8-10 days is normal.
It gives you time to read the manual.

My car was on the Overseas Joyce which docked @ Benicia last Friday (3/23) and I am still waiting for it today (3/31). My dealer is Dublin Toyota so it's only 30 miles away from the dock. I literally jump whenever my phone rings but no calls from the dealer yet. I talked to my sales person yesterday and he saids he doesn't know.

My car was on the Indiana Highway. I called my dealership yesterday and they said delivery was pushed back to April 2-5. Just a few days ago they told me they had new freight information and that it would arrive from March 28 - April 1. Oh well.

Looking at other posts, it seems 7-10 days to the dealership after the ship docks is pretty typical.

I think someone posted earlier in another thread that things move more slowly at Benicia because the unloading and prep is contracted out to the facilities of another manufacturer, perhaps a Korean company. If I can find the post, I will come back and add the info here.

Edit: My memory was a little off (no surprise). Search for a thread titled "How Long" and read through the posts. Here is the quote that I was thinking of:

"I saw online that the same facility is assembling the CODA electric vehicles. Maybe their resources are stretched too thin."
I believe it is an independent contractor, rather than a Toyota facility like at the Long Beach port handling the distribution of cars at Benicia. In the thread mentioned above, a poster described complaining to Toyota directly about the delay, and getting some action. It seems to be common with posters waiting on cars from that port.
    Good luck.

Humm, mine was on the Overseas Joyce as well. I got an email from Andrey, at Putnam Toyota in Burlingame, confirming delivery to the dealership on Friday the 30th.

Good luck and I know your 'chompin' at the bit'!
