DIY JDM style side mirrors combo lights (Signal+Parking+Courtesy lights)

You know I'm not really sure. Everything you install on your car that is not approved by Toyota runs the risk of voiding your warranty on those items.

 

No, it won't void your car's warranty. They just won't cover the aftermarket mirrors in case they break.

 

Awesome. Is there anyone in the bay area can help me with this mod?

Whew, finally got the puddle light working last night.

- black wire to driver pillar blue wire
- white wire to driver side white/red wire (pin #24). Used post #369, illuminated door sill installation pdf, for the location and #373 for which wire to tap.

Agreed:rockon:! I've had em installed for about 6 month & the greatest satisfaction comes during dusk or night when stopped at an intersection & cars next to you can't take their eyes off my puddle lit mirrors, just priceless.

 

You wired yours to have puddle lights stay on when headlights are turned on? Mine is only on when I approach it or when I open the door... but I have the running lights wired on.

 

Ooopps! I meant running lights. I got it wired the same as u, haha. Thanx for catching that. BTW, that(puddle) is another great feature.

 

Where can i order this product, and does it replace my current side mirror or just that bottom bracket. Any difference in 2012 models to install?

 

People are getting them through this ebay seller. You replace the stock mirror covers and salvage everything else. The 2012 should be no different.

 

I'm not great at putting something together (not car savvy) is their someone in socal that i can get this place on my car?

Tommy installed the turn signal mirrors for a number of us and he does everything under the dash (including finding the elusive blue wire).

Looks like I'm probably gonna order from ebay, but do you know where I can order the tinted version? I was thinking of having the smoked look with the Valenti SB.

I wanted the smoked ones for the mirrors, but I never could decipher if they came with the puddle lights on the bottom like the ones we have. It APPEARS that they might, but appearances can be deceiving....

 

I'll just order the one that everyones been ordering and tint it myself at my tint shop.

By the way that Ebay Guy that everyone orders with does the product come Painted? or do i have to do that my self

 

They will come painted (I think it was a $20 paint cost --- you just give them your paint code.).....

 

If he doesn't have a special auction open with your color specified, write him and have him create one with your color. That is the best way to do it.
