Fiancé now impressed...

    My fiancé was not totally with me on buying the Prius at first. I had a low mileage Subaru Baja. But I hated the pain at the pump, and their Yaris was not easy on long road trips.

    That was till this past weekend and a road trip to Lebonan Pa. We started out with about 150 miles already on the tank. After about 340 miles up and back, the low fuel blink happened as we got close to home. 9.54 gallons at $38.76 cost for 489 miles - they said "wow!".

    After a trip to Monterey and back (477miles) my girlfriend was truly impressed with the car. She knows what kind of mpg I got in my GenII but I don't think it really impressed upon her how cool these cars are until this last trip. We would have had to refill her Rav4 2+ times to make this trip. She even commented on how much nicer and more normal the GenIII is compared to my old car. She even joked about how she should get one. LOL

    I would be impressed too if I didn't have to drive that long<lol>. Always good to convert the nonbelievers:D. F8L, they always joke at first, but she will be dead serious the next time;).

    I have dragged my future better half in to the new century at times. First it was their aging iBook in October 2010 with our buying MacBook Air's. Then it was getting them an iPhone 3GS (was willing to do an iPhone 4) for Valentines Day 2011. I was informed this past weekend that they will be getting the iPhone 5 this October! LOL

    Guessing that a Prius may be next.... :D

    My wife was my fianc'e when we bought our Prius in May
    2009. We have nearly 70,000 miles and she drives
    it 95% of the time. She still enjoys driving it and even
    though she does not drive for mpg she still gets mid
    to high 40's in winter and low 50's mpg in summer, calculated
    mpg's of course. She likes the power mode feature.
