so.. 5 screws, 3 bolts, and 2 plastic grommet things underneath the car.. and 3 clips at the top... that's really it.

i'm thinking in the hundreds of dollars for the official Toyota Repair Manuals.. which obviously includes.. EVERYTHING.

you need to call (800)622-2033 and ask to purchase the Technical Manuals there.

Toyota manuals have.. EVERYTHING... seriously everything. wiring diagrams.. to parts or connector locations.. to disassembly, removal... installation of all the parts.. more thorough then anything else I know out there.

Thanks, Ed. I'll speak with the salesman that I purchased the c and see if he can do anything for me. $600 for a set of service manuals is ridiculous. Guess they're trying to protect the service departments?

well... it's also partially for the paper as well.. none of the service deparments really use paper book manuals anymore... everything is on TIS.

which for like $10/day or something.. the public can get full access to it... it'd be cheaper than buying the books..

Yes, I saw that one can subscribe to the service manuals, but at $400/yr, it would make more sense to purchase them for a bit more and have a permanent hard copy.

Come on... paper is not that expensive.

But you can get it on TIS for $15 for two days. Even if you had to pay $15 every time you needed to look something up (I don't know whether you can download a copy to your hard drive or not), it would take a lot for that to become more expensive than purchasing the hard copy. I mean, I get the benefit of having a hard copy, and I don't know what your intentions are in having the info, but that just seems far to steep when you can go the $15 route. Just my thoughts, though. It's your money, so you get to decide what its worth. :)

Well, my thoughts are that it should not be this expensive for a service manual to begin with.

I always buy a service manual for every car/truck I own. Saves me from taking the car back to a dealer for anything other than warannty work or things I can read about beforehand that is beyond my ability to repair/fix.

We're definitely in agreement there! And good for you for learning and doing your own repairs. I was taught zero about cars growing up, and don't have the confidence to take apart/put together my own car for fear of destroying it

That is why they are expensive, so you wouldn't do that!
There are some supposedly factory service manuals sold on e-bay which you can download but I tried one and found it to be less than desirable.
