Nope, I don't own a Volt. If I drove my car daily, I probably would have bought one, but I have a company supplied SUV that I drive daily. The Prius is what I use for those 200+ mile weekend trips.

If he's a car-guy, then encourage him to finish the F1. Definately a nice truck! Tell him to leave you alone and sit there quietly while you drive what you're comfortable driving. If he wants bragging rights, then tell him to drive his old Ford!

I'm still working on him. It would be MY daily driver, so it's not like he's going to have to drive it.

One day he'll seem supportive of me getting the kind of car I want to drive, and then the next day he is re-iterating again that he won't drive one and is calling it a "glorified golf cart."

The Prius is a FAR CRY from a golf cart. I told him so, and warned him not to be feeding me all the barbs he's been using to tease 'Joe' at work over his Prius, or I'd poison his coffee.

And it won't be the kind of poison to make him dead, only the kind to make him WISH he were dead!

    Kidding! Kidding...(mostly....) :bounce:

James Woolsey - Interview - Motor Trend

From an American car mag, this interview should sway ANY right wing neo-con. The problem you really have, OP, is that your husband will have to admit in the office that he has been an idiot for decades.

Then to be honest... Remind him he isn't driving the car... It's the car you will be using. And if he is dead in the car... It's probably because you were trying to get him to the hospital due to some fatal accident he suffered and it was cause he died from being mortified that he had to rely on a prius to save him. >.>

There is a lot more to making the second largest purchase of you life, than political idealology. And you don't help your case when you call the guy an idiot.

I'm encouraging him to just blame the car choice on the wife. :)

His co-workers already know that I'm a bit of an eccentric (loves hardware stores and gun shops; hates jewelry and clothing stores), so it won't be a hard sell at all. Plus they know I'm a computer geek going for a second degree in engineering.

The Prius is a NATURAL for such a geeky woman! It would be cruel for him not to support me embracing my inner geek!

Plus, the Prius is far more understated in appearance than that Camry was. We live in a rather blue-collar town, so I don't want anything that looks too flashy or draws attention.

The Prius is modest-looking--just perfect. Only those with brains will have an inkling of what is going on in the drivetrain! :tea:

Lol, it's not that esoteric. If you really wanna channel your inner-Tony Stark you should build your own car then.

    Who has the TIME?!??

I have eleven acres of semi-wild pasture, hayfield, forest, and yard to manage (besides all the critters, food gardens, a family, and finances--oh Lord it's tax-filing time again...)

At least one likes to delegate building the car!!! :p
