Nice Tru. I thought about those as well but went with the Kazeras. Now if we could only get someone to make the lowering springs for the v we'd be in business. I havent posted pics of my v yet since I am waiting til I get springs installed.

Thanks Mac.. I'm sure slightly lower would look great, I frequently have crew mates and gear on board so it's stock ride height for me, just a rear sway bar and some chassis stiffening will be it...and doing all the routine maintience myself I'll need to be able to use my ramps, don't think they'll work on a lowered vehicle.

Thanks for posting pics. I have been thinking of going with MR125s. Any idea of how much your new tire/wheel combo actually weighs compared with the original Toyo/OEM wheel?

Tire Rack says the 17" MR121 is 17.9 lbs and the tire is at 22 or 23 lbs. Hence you are looking at about 40 lbs compared with the OEM pkg of about 45 lbs for the 17".

My goal would be to increase my mpgs by reducing the wheel/tire weight. It'll be interesting to see if you notice any impact on mpgs.

I totally dorked it, forgot to ask the shop i was at if they had a scale...comparing by hand the OEM wheel/tire felt a little heavier than the Motegi setup, pretty darn close though.
I'll pull one of the new wheels this weekend for a weigh-in and post the numbers for you.
Naturally with the wider tire and lower profile the car corners much better...the tradeoff is in the glide, the factory setup definetily has the edge.
Hopefully mileage won't take to big a hit...

Just weighed the factory 16" wheel/tire combo...bathroom scale method, pretty crude...I've got them at 44 pounds...the Michelin/Motegi setup, according to online specs comes in about 2lbs less.

    Come on Mac...let's see um.

    Looks good, man!

I wonder if one of the Lexus IS F wheels would fit. They are the same bolt pattern. :)

Maybe I'll take some pics this weekend and post. I didnt see much of a difference in my MPG when I made the switch. I too have 17in wheels with the same tire dimensions as yours. I went with the Bridgestone Ecopias though. I never weighed the new setup but I know the wheels were maybe an additional 4-5 pounds each.

And I have the same silver color as yours so it would be nice to compare the different looks.

I personally like the first set. I am guessing they are hyper black or gunmetal?

Those IS F wheels are pretty sweet...a very unique pattern no one else has copied that I've seen...I don't know the width on them, seems like they'd be to wide for a Pri, and very expensive...I checked the dealer price on my OEM 16's...a rediculious $425 a piece, can't imagine what those F hoops cost.

The first ones (2010) may fit at 18x8". Pricing will vary but they are probably expensive if you have to get them from the dealer. Surprisingly the F Sport Trident wheels from the ct200h were only $199/ea at the dealer so anything is possible. :)

Couldn't wait another day F8, cant drive a vehicle to long without black wheels...I went cross eyed looking at the crazy amount of choices available, pretty happy with this one...
Thanks for the props...I think that's what the kids say.

I duno . . . if I had my 'druthers ... I'd go for these 21" rims ... weighing in at only 22lbs ... yet build to withstand the car's 880+ hp ... and 630+ Lbs of torque:

I mean if I'm going to dream . . . . I might as well make it wacky. I do like me some low unsprung weight.
    ;)

That's without a doubt one of the most beautiful cars on the planet Hill...I came very close to choosing that color for my v, kinda sorry I didn't after seeing the color/wheel combo...

I did get pretty close to the wheel pattern without even knowing it, one out of two ain't bad...and by the way... couldn't agree more on the unsprung weight benefits.

If your ever in the market for wheels/tires or suspension bits Hill, check out Signature Performance in Costa Mesa, great prices and service...they took great care of me today.

At 6'-5" ... I gotta keep 'em in proportion ... right?
I might just have to take you up on that . . . I've already been pricing out some not to expensive wheels that are a good 10Lbs lighter then the OEM's. We'll keep you in mind. Maybe on the way home from work I can check out your wares.

Texting while driving...no problem for you at 6'5", because you can steer with your knees...
