You're absolutely right but there's a lot of space under the Fit's rear seats for batteries.

Still can't understand why Honda went with the new Insight instead of their hybrid Fit - maybe they based it on less sales of the regular Fit. Insight - very underwhelmed at the one I checked out. Kinda like a Prius Light - definitely not satisfying.

    YMMV

I kept hoping that the OP had given his car to his spouse and the "trade" was to let the spouse drive the new car and the OP got his old car back.

Sorry about the loss in equity, but so long as you are happy, it's all good (the dealership LOVES you....)

Surprised you'd want to give up that MPG.

i'd be interested to know how many miles you put on the c, how much you paid for it and what the dealer tries to resell it for. this is a whole new ball game for me.

The Fit is a great car, nothing to hate about it. I know it will be on my list of cars to check out when my wife replaces her old Subaru, particularly if it is hybrid.

I'm trading in my 2011 Honda Sports Fit for the C. Can't wait. There is a huge blind spot in the Fit on the front driver's side, created by the A pillar. After hearing my 6 foot tall husband tell me-- yet again-- that he doesn't have that problem, I realized it is height related. The shorter you are, the worse the problem. I'm 5'5" and it is a real issue for me. I havent felt safe in the car since I almost hit a pedestrian, who I didn't see at all until he was almost right in front of the car. Fortunately, This isn't a problem for me in the C. There are some other complaints about this online. Blind spot in the FRONT driver's side - Unofficial Honda FIT Forums. So, short potential Fit drivers beware! And pedestrians. At least in my town. Well, until I get the C.

anybody whose been in the c forum for a while knows kirk is one of the primary contributors over the past while. he's "lived" the c life. he's been honest and forthright and active. i'm sure that his memories of the fit just built up in the background until the tipping point was reached. now, here's to hoping it was real and he doesn't have to trade back again!

seriously though, you're a standup guy, a straight shooter and its been great spending some time with you on this forum. you could have just disappeared, but you didn't. strong character you are.

Well I must say you all have been very kind and supportive in your responses. I thought i would have gotten bashed much more about it being a foolish move financially which I'll be the first to admit it was. In no way will I say the c is a bad car or any worse than the Fit, it just comes down to personal preference and the control of the manual tranny. If I could afford both i certainly would have one of each lol!! I had 2400 miles on the c and i got $2000 less than i paid which is to be expected. And the 2010 Fit Sport I ended up paying $900 more than I got on trade so I lost most of the positive equity I had in the Fit and I am aware it was a financially foolish move but I'm happy. I still think the c's a sweet car and I'm sure you all will enjoy many many trouble free years. Over 30,000 miles on the Fit I've averaged 33.5 mpg's. Nowhere near the c but not the worst ever either. Thanks again everyone and I'm sure I'll be lurking around once in awhile to check on the c-life haha!!

Please hang around - you've got experience with the C - might be able to help some of us when we have questions.:)

When I get my C - we'll have a 1997 Geo Prizm, 2007 Fit Sport and the C. Even with the auto - the Fit is a fun ride. But it's my wife's (and dogs') car so I'll stick with the C and the Prizm (dogs' back up car).:D

I've driven a Fit before, the only cars with gear changes I hated more was the 2003-2004 SE-R Spec V and the 2000+ Matrix/Corolla/Celica w/6-spd (XRS, XRS, GT-S, respectively). The Yaris was not so picky, but I really hate electronic throttle with manual transmissions (with the exception of the RX8 and NC Miata).

Interesting, I never have issues with my manual tranny Fit over 32,000 miles on this one and 30,000 on my 2007 I had. The c IS a fabulous car, but the ergonomics, the visibility, the cargo space, and the fun to drive factor are far better in the Fit. That is just my personal opinion and not a knock to the c.

Getting ready to trade-in my 2010 Fit for a Prius C3. I really don't like the Fit. It has a very choppy road feel and ride. The seats are terrible for long trips.

I've driven a C for 650 miles on a three day weekend rental program and fell in love with it. Now I just have to convince the wife we need a "newer" car :)

As I've posted before - we have a 2007 Fit Sport and a Prius C 2. We like both cars but your description of the Fit's ride (albeit for a newer car) is spot on. My wife thinks the Prius C 2 is much smoother riding than the Fit.

    YMMV
