I am picking up our Prius today in about an hour.

It has been 2 weeks owning the Prius C, that I adore.
I love it so much, that we are going to be a Prius only family.

The C will be my everyday driver and will get the easy foot that I can give.

The big mama will be our family car for all the trips and vacations that we take. It will also be my lady's everyday driver...although she doesnt work, so it may only see action 2-3 times week.
I will be driving the Prius for at least the first two weeks to go easy and put about 500 miles on for a smooth break in.

We got the 2012 Prius 3 gen package #3 in Winter Grey and dark grey (stone) interior. Has the reverse cam with nav. 15 inch black alloys.
Compared to the C, well mpg is about the same, but this baby has the power button. I tried her out last night...and she has all the power!
1.8 liter over the C's 1.5 liter. 30% more HP.

I will have to snap some pics later today.

My "C' is now going to be happily married!!!
    haha:cool:

Seriously, the kids will enjoy the space in the rear seat,
and we will also have a bit more trunk space.

We shortly thought about the Prius V, but there is no way
that I could have been fine with the massive lower mpg with the V.
There is not enough more space that would have justified.

There is also the plug-in, but being in PA, it would have been
not a wise choice...especially on our trips.

Off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Pri!

    Lancaster Toyota rocks!

Nice! Trying to talk the wife into the V. She needs the cargo area. You'll be passing those Amish buggies with alacrity now!

The plug-in was a wise choice for me, even in Lancaster. My first tank of gas got me the trip home from Bethesda MD, a trip to the Philly area and a trip Kutztown. I drive my local trips including my commute to work without gas and as you can see from my signature, even with all of those longer trips, I'm getting amazing MPG. :)

If it were my everyday driver, I prob would have went with the plug in vrs the C
But for what I use it for, the 10-20K extra would not have let me.
I wanted the C for myself, and the hatchback for our family/vacation car.

Comparing the two....I will prob start another thread but to sum it up...

First impressions on the 2012 Prius.

Has the power! including Power button
    Drives smooth, feels really smooth.
Gear selector, different but easy peasy...push a button to park!
Display...the C definitely wins it over and over, but the eco screen on the 3 gen is larger.
Comfort. Larger and more comfortable than the C.
Reverse camera...sweet touch (I decided on this, and glad)
Gas pedal is a bit less touchy than C, even with both w/ eco on. SO easier to glide.
Alot heavier in weight, so gliding and coasting is great....also picks up speed on delcines faster.
1.8L over the 1.5L So overall car "feels" more gas engine.
Quiet from road and outside noise. And also engine noise (sometimes the C is nice to know where you are at as for EV and ICE, etc)

After I left the dealer, I drove to work about 20 miles total.
    All the same road 272.
I swear, I saw over 20 prius in the 30 minute ride.
I even saw twice 2 in a row.

    Toyota!

    One thing I noticed....
People know what the Prius 3 gen looks like. I was used and abused driving it.
I dont think many know what the Prius C is, because they treat me different in it.

Driving today, I had someone that was going to turn in front of me.
They knew I was a prius and they thought I was going to pull out slow (guessing)
IT was damn near close. I slammed my brakes in time and the guy was upset.

Then I had a few people up on my end moreso over the C.

Overall, I am loving it! The lady will be happy.
