I've been looking for a C3 with the alloy wheel option but it looks like one is coming in without the alloy wheel option. The dealer said that it can be added in later probably cheaper than the $390 dealer charge and I could choose my own style from an installer somewhere.

Is this true? Or should I wait for the C3 with alloy option? Thanks.

if you want the stock alloys, wait for a car with it already installed. The cost of the alloys through the parts department is outrageous. (something like $1200-1600?? can't remember the exact figure) It's surely not less than 390 like the dealer is telling you, unless they are willing to cut you a break. If they are, get it in writing on your sales order and just don't take the salesman's word for it.

you can go the aftermarket route, which is what I did...

I was told by my dealer that it would be like 350 per wheel if not factory installed and that it was much more cost effective to get them already on if I really wanted them. After they weren't able to find my C3 in the color I wanted I relented and said that they could search for one without that option but it didn't seem to make much difference in availability. They just had to end up ordering it anyways.

Sorry I meant aftermarket alloys not stock. I don't know anything about cars so @kkim other post sounds like it would be too hard for me to figure out so I'll just wait for one with the alloy option. The aftermarket alloys look great though, wish I knew more about cars to consider it.

where did you get that info? I've not seen any weight figures for the OEM wheels.

Oops...I actually think I saw your post about your 15" alloy wheels weighing less than the steel wheels...not the OEM's...my bad..Previous post edited

It would be interesting to know though.

I am dying to know what the OEM 15x5 alloys weigh. If you ever have a wheel off your car, please throw it on a bathroom scale to find out the approximate OEM wheel/tire combo weight. It's not the most accurate way to weigh them, but it will be within a pound, I would think. :)
