90% of Prius owners have PhD's, apparently

    We went to test drive an orphaned plug-in Prius the other day. The thing had $10,000 worth of dealer add-ons on it. TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS! The idiots took a $40 K car and turned it into a $50 K Prius. Anyway, we are test driving the thing, and the salesman says to us, straightfaced, "This car is for smart people, 90% of Prius owners have a PhD."
    :doh:

    But what percentage of Prius owners have some sort of advanced degree? Is there data somewhere on it?

    we can take a poll here, i guess, though the results will probably be skewed. 90% phd is ridiculous given how many people actually have phds.

    for my part, i have an MS in EECS

    From time to time I get these stupid emails offering a PhD by mail from what the email calls a "prestigious non-accredited university." The term is an oxymoron. But it got me to thinking. So at the time I happened to have a program for making certificates, and a color printer, and the upshot is that I now have a Doctor of Bullshit (PhB ) degree from the nonexistent East Dakota Institute of Technocracy.

    I wouldn't be surprised if there were a lot of Prius owners with advanced degrees of some sort.

    Joke about what one kid in Palo Alto (Stanford University) says when challenged by another kid: "I bet my dad has more Nobel Prizes than yours!!"

    Or as my wife says, BS, MS, PhD. We know what BS is. MS is more of it. And PhD is Piled higher and Deeper. I happen to have a PhD, and my wife likes remind me what it stands for when I do something dumb.

    90% is a ridiculous number! If I were making something up, I'd go with Barney Stinson's old standby from How I Met Your Mother: 83%. But even that seems high, even for just Prius owners with some sort of degree, much less advanced.

    I have a doctorate but it's not a PhD. Does that count?

    PS: Do you realize how may superheros have advanced degrees? And so do their arch enemies, BTW.

    oh in addition to my real degree, i also have a PhD in parallel parking. or maybe my wife is just easily impressed.
