I just finished and installed the LED mirrors. All I can say is Very Cool.

They took me almost all weekend because I soldered the wires except the blue one I hit with a t-tap.

I have some extra photos on making the wire thread easier into and across the door grommet. Once you remove the electrical tape at the entrance of the car door it's easy to make the wire snake the corner and across the grommet. Taped it back and it's good as new.

I also have that elusive blue wire pics at the back of the connect in the ECU. What a pain. I used a make-up compact mirror to scope around and find it.

My back still hurts from being under the steering.

Thanks for the help on this huge thread.

Oh, Camera battery is dead so I'll get the pics up later.

GLASS MIRROR TIP: Look for the two little indents from the bottom where a small screw driver (5mm blade) will fit. Stab and turn the screw driver. The screw driver goes between the white plastic and mirror. It was easy once you see the indents. Putting it back is harder because the mirror may not latch and you can't see it when it does latch.

This requires a congratulations. You're like the 3rd DIYer who've managed to find this elusive blue wire.

Just like to thank everyone in this thread. Finished my installation within 3 hours Saturday afternoon. So cool. So pretty. Love the puddle lights. Even puddle lights on my former 07 GS450h weren't that pretty :)

I ran everything to the driver side except the pass signal. For puddle I use the blue wire on top part of driver A-pillar and white w/ red dots wire inside driver sill plate area. I made the mistake of putting the blue-red-black short wire set (2 supplied, one short one long) on the pass side, but turned out ok :)

    Back with some pics:

Blue wire for dimming LED found behind the ECU.

Grommet routing - Remove car side grommet and remove bracket from door, then peel some tape to route wires into car. Easy.

If you want to see what the connector looks like plugged in from behind with a mirror look here.

Yes they do fit the V and I had mine done yesterday. I brought the print out of the first post by Andy to help them out. Even though it took them almost 4 hours for a tidy job of wrapping the wires to look not out of places. As for the elusive blue wire, I noticed that after I locked my car and later walk closer to the car with the remote, not only the dome light came on but also the GREEN light of the POWER button, both of which are on timer off as we want. So I told me installer not to go under the roof for the dome but remove the POWER panel and look for it there and sure enough it's there. I really enjoy the look and the function of this cool gadget.

Good catch. So, is the wiring connection/location the same with the hatchback prius and the V wagon?

That's probably the most accurate quote as mine was the first Gen 3 Prius he did and locating the blue wire took longer than anticipated (and differs between trims).

I don't think so because the gear shift knob is on the different locations. For the V, the wire is under the POWER button which is on the same panel as the gear knob. That wire is the GREEN back light not the orange LED.

With my V+ATP and the information that the elusive blue wire is under the POWER switch, my shop took almost 4 hours at $95 per hour. And I watched them at all time, so the final cost is $350 plus tax.
However, he did a real professional job in particular the wiring harnesses that blend with the OEM ones.:)

OK. One more question. Is the wiring for the turn/parking lights the same in color and location? Reason I'm asking, we're planning to get the V wagon too.
