Haha, sweet! One problem down! :D.

I hope XM is useful in your area. It's a hit and miss in my area. Once it had no data (i.e. no arrows at all) and yet traffic was backed up for several kilometres! Oops! I assume it works better in the US.

It is pretty close. The funniest part is the border crossing traffic report. "20 km ahead on your route, stop and go traffic, 1 km long" and I'm going "well yeah, that's the border!!" hehe :D

Ahh, that must be the new "advanced voice recognition"

I find the traffic data to be hit or miss. It seems to lag behind the actual traffic flow by 15 or 20 minutes. I drive surface streets on my daily commute, and traffic only seems to work on freeways so it really doesn't matter to me. The only time traffic gets backed up on my route is if the freeways are at a dead standstill and the traffic people on the radio tell commuters to get off and take "my" route. :D

I popped in a DVD movie I put on a disc on my computer and my 7.1 system played the audio but not the video. I don't know if there is some setting I need to change to get video to display or if it is because of my homebrew DVD :p If someone could tell me what I need to do to watch a movie that would be a start. Next test is burning a bunch of MP3's on a DVD and see if that plays :) When I tried the movie I was sitting in the garage not moving so that isn't the issue with no video. Does the parking brake have a switch that the system uses to detect if the car is parked to display a video?

Very front orientated. The rear fill is fine for me but definately the system is setup for listeners riding up front.

BTW, a fellow a few minutes ago told me to set the parking brake to watch movies and I went out in the garage and tested it. It worked perfect :) That was a movie I wrote on a DVD+R so I know the drive will read those. Next is to try MP3's written on a DVD.

    1) I dislike that I have to set fader so much to the back to hear anything from rear, but that's no good on rare occasion when have a rear passenger.
    P
    2) great results with mp3 with iPod on USB. Use iPhone on BT.

Can your iPhone run either Bluetooth or the USB cable and both provide the same functions with the audio system? What IOS are you running? I am wondering if the communications errors with the iPhone & Nav/Audio system are IOS dependent.

I still need to see if there is a fade pot inside the amp to adjust :) I understand it is mounted under the passenger seat.

I haven't read through all the replies yet but I agree the navigation thing is really annoying.

"whatever reason after i enter it and try to type the street address, it gets greyed out as soon as i start typing numbers, like theres no entry."

The reason why the numbers are greyed out is because you are supposed to enter ONLY the street name under street address. You enter the number under "No." field.

I was doing the same thing when I first got my 2012 and took me a while to figure it out.

1st test of a DVD written with MP3's. I wrote a full DVD disc with a bunch of folders that contained the MP3's that made up each CD. The 7.1 system said no music files found or something like that. Next test is to just write individual song MP3's without the folders and see if it was just the folders that were stopping it from finding the MP3's.

Same story No Music Files Found displayed with a DVD written with 33 MP3 files as a data disc. Would it work if written with a music image file created from a few albums? IDK, the image takes a while to create and I was in more of a hurry today to test this. Another day...

I'd be interested to hear if that works. I'm also still wondering if it would work if a DVD is created as a video, but has no video track and has mp3s as audio. I haven't had any time to try it out though.

What is the format for DVD movie audio? If the MP3's were converted to that format then I don't see why it would not work. But then again, I thought what I did today would have worked

I will get a music image file started and burn it onto a DVD tonight and see what that does. Instead of imaging a bunch of albums, I'll just do a couple songs so it goes quicker. I use coaster CD's & DVD's for target practice so a couple more targets is not a problem :p

I still have to unplug that George Jetson speaker yet...Lots to do :)

Indeed, even on the 2010, it appears that the sound stage is front-biased. I have my fader set to -2 to somewhat balance out the front/rear sound. (that and the speakers in the front seems to be of better quality than those in the rear on the 2010 JBL audio)

It appears from reading posts here and over in the Club Lexus forums that sometime in the last couple of years or so the Toyota/Lexus software engineers have made some poor choices regarding the NAV firmware.

2013 Lexii NAV = Bad, Bad, Bad!!! | PriusChat

The 800# for Lexus Customer Service is 1-800-255-3987
The 800# for Toyota Customer Service is 1-800-331-4331

Hopefully with enough targeted complaints the "Suspend Guidance", "Resume Guidance" and muting of guidance during phone calls will return in the next firmware release.

Ohhh for those of you getting lost while making a phone call please try leaving your map screen up and follow the turns displayed on it. Or if you have a HUD follow the turns there. These should still be available while on the phone. If not add it to the list of fixes for the next firmware release. Kind of sad that our almost decade old NAV's in Ema and Myrtle are more user friendly than the 2013 revision.

    Happy driving,
    Chris
