My wife's new c2 got to the dealership this afternoon.
The salesman sent us an iPhone pic.
We may be able to pick it up tomorrow. I hope!
The weather this weekend is going to be great!

When we took the test ride on Monday, in a crazy orange C1,
it had that same white paper on the roof and hood.
It looked better w/o the paper, when we went on Wednesday to have the old Corolla inspected.
But, my wife still hated the Orange. She wanted white, but I told her the snow plows
would push her up on the sidewalk during a snow storm..
I talked her into picking my favorite color.. :p

We picked it up this afternoon.

Seems like something on the transport dinged a few paint chips in the hatch.
Otherwise it seems it very nice shape..
I drove it home and reset the trip meters, so my wife could take a relaxing hypermiling drive.
But, she did some jackrabbit launches and a few hard braking stops anyways..

It was a slow ride, with a lot of stops for traffic and bikes etc.
And we ended up with a surprising amount of EVing..
(At least I wasn't expecting it to be 59% of the drive)..

well that is a bummer about the chips. Think a chain was hanging or something? What did your dealer say?

That's my biggest fear after 2 months of waiting that there could be something wrong with my car that will cause it to fail my inspection and cause the deal to fall through.

You are going to be amazed! We got our's this week and the first road trip of over 100 miles we got 66 mpg. And it's so fun to drive. Have a great time and good luck!

XRinger What dealership did you get yours through? I'm living in Gloucester and had to make the hike out to Acton/Littleton to get my Prius C. None of the closer dealerships would put any time/effort into looking for the car I wanted, they just wanted me to put an order in and wait the 60-90 days.

They will repaint the hatch or do touch-up, whatever we want.
I think we should try the touch-up job, since that wouldn't effect
the hatch color 5 years down the road..
Don't know what the culprit was, might have been a hanging belt buckle.
Our very first car (a 1969 Maverick) had it's trunk lid chain-blasted on the truck. It HAD to be repainted..

These chips look like what the nose will look like after driving around here during the winter..
Many times, a sander truck will do a drive-by chip job on your parked car..

Because they aren't fully boxed, many cars have minor paint scratches and chips during shipment.
But most Toyota cars are pristine on delivery. Yours will very likely be in perfect condition..

We are in Woburn, and this is our 3rd Toyota from the local dealer.
Our sales guy was good. We had our car within about 6 days of deciding to take a test drive.
We could have gotten a c2 faster, had we not wanted Red..

The standard silver makes the new c look like a smaller version Prius.
But Absolutely Red makes the c look like a Sporty Prius! :D
My wife loves the color and has already told me five times,
that I was right to pick the red..

She was reluctant at first, since we already have a Torch Red Escape.
The colors are kinda close to being exactly the same..

Congrats! Looks really good. This will be my next car and plan to take a test drive at this dealership.
Only thing stopping me is I don't want to pay over msrp. Internet sales reps won't budge!

Welcome to the "c" family. The red is absolutely awesome. Had some doubts about it at first (it was the only one on the lot), but now I love it.

The next town over (Lexington MA) has about a million Prius owners,
every time one of them sees us driving by, they do a double-take..

I guess seeing a Prius this color must be rare around here..
    Most are white or silver..

    Worse case scenario

We did a 20 mile road trip this morning. Somerville MA is a traffic nightmare.
Always on the brakes. No hypermiling is possible. But we did press the ECO button.

With all the hills, I was amazed we did 62% in EV mode.

While watching the power-flow display, I was really surprised to see the engine was off, while going 40 MPH..
I'm new to hybrids, and I didn't really expect this kind of EV performance.

If you have a slight down-hill run, just how fast will this car go, in EV mode?

If your cooler flips over, there is a drain hole under the spare tire.. :)

Based on my observation, when the C has warmed up fully...about 70C for the coolant, you can drive in EV up to about 44 MPH...This usually occurs when you are travelling over 45 MPH and have a slight downhill or flat grade... the car will transition from "Warp Stealth" (ICE spinning, but not using gas, RPM at 992) to EV around 40-42 MPH and then can go up to about 44 before the ICE fires back up. I'm sure there are more techincal explanations, but hopefully this makes sense...My guess is the Gen III Liftback also can do this.

Updated: Here is a link that might help explain better what is happening in Stage 4 or full hybrid operation...I think it applies to Gen II, but is still helpful. Scroll down until you see Stage 4 and read on....

Thanks for the link. I had already read part of it, now I know where to find it and finish up my reading..

My wife and daughter just got back from a little vaca road-trip to Burlington VT.
Did pretty well, for not being hypermilers. The odometer is tacked to the bottom of the pic.
