2 quick questions regarding PIP purchases:

    1) I see many people now have purchased the PIP. What have dealers been charging? I am assuming most people are paying MSRP or even above MSRP-- is this the case?

    2) What are dealers doing with trade in values for previously purchased prius (eg. we have a 2010 with only 7k).

I am just trying to figure out how much I should expect to pay.

    Thanks!!

I would not even talk with a dealer who sells for more than MSRP.

The folks who pre-ordered thru PriusChat certified dealer got 500 off msrp. I don't think that program is active any more.

Sell your 2010 privately; you'll get substantially more than what a dealer will give you on trade. If you've got the time to do that. I've had good luck with Ebay motors; others have used Craigslist or Autotrader.com.

    Good luck!

Well, some got more, or less, than $500 off msrp. We sold our 2010 on Craigslist with people 'standing in line' to buy it. Even had a car lot in the next town that wanted to buy it. You won't have a problem selling.

What amount were you able to get for your 2010? Please PM me if you would rather not share this publicly.

    Thanks, ed

I bought my base model Clearwater Blue PIP at Mossy Toyota in Pacific Beach a few days ago for list price and they had 11 other PIPs that they told me they would also sell for list. I love it- 57 miles per gallon on 8 hour drive from San Diego to Northern California (with no charge at start) and all EV for last 4 days.
