You took my post too seriously. I feel I know you and your intentions well enough to poo your way when I think you need it. :D

For the record, I don't care what you drive. You have contributed much to the forum and I know I,m not the only one who appreciates your participation. :)

The average mpg of the Fives here drops because everyone is taking F8L's advice to go with the Primacys as replacement tires. It's all F8L's fault! :D

i have done like 200 miles on the interstate at 61 mph (using CC) with the windows down not all the way but 40-50% instead of AC in 70-75 temps, it was my best interstate round trip so far (last weekend to my parents house for mothers day), 490 miles at 64.7 mpg displayed.

so not really seeing how windows effect it much on this car, i understand and believe the theories behind the windows open creating drag. i know there are a mountain of factors that effect this car and MPG but so far windows on multiple trips have done ok and AC has been ok as well. maybe i have just been lucky. *shrug*

If you didn't have dangerously aggressive drivers on your 4 mile commute  - you could use a human-power vehicle like Humancar/recumbent bicycle... .

    Don't you hate it when....

The light ahead is red with a few cars stopped, so you start a nice long glide and see that it has just turned green. You anticipate traffic moving at sufficient speed to maintain your glide, only to have the dip shit at the very end so busy texting that you have to brake because they haven't moved.

I get that all the time, only it's not just the looking ... she also verbalizes it. I just smile and continue on my merry way!!!

I know exactly how you feel about the MPG hit. She almost completely disregarded it at the beginning. Although, after first getting about 46 mpg and after some instruction, the next time she came in at about 53 mpg. So, she must have listened to some of my tips.

My wife has a Highlander and gets about 17 mpg. I told her the next car (3-4 yrs) will definitely be a hybrid. Her immediate reaction was, "there is no way I am driving like you!" I told her that even if she drove normally, she would get almost triple the mileage if she was driving a regular Prius.

For the next car, I would like to see a RAV 4 Hybrid. I know they are coming out with an electric one, but it just doesn't fit our needs. If they could get about 38 mpg that would be great.

I did hear that the next car that is going hybrid is the Scion IQ. So, expect more of the Scion lineup to go hybrid.

LOL. I guess a lot of us have this problem but the best thing is when u see your significant other finally applying the technique you've been hammering at her constantly so the mpg hit is now minimal or very acceptable:D.

Someone brags/complains about their mileage, but you don't understand a word of it because they are buying fuel in imperial deckaliters, and paying with guilders or rupees or some other make-believe money.

It's even worse when they start trying to add converted EV energy use into actual driving cost.

I also hate it when I fill up & than right after I see the gas price spiral down & because the prius is so miserly on fuel by the time your ready for another fill up, the price has worked its way back up. Ironic isn't it, u know your a prius owner when u complain about not being able to gas up more;).

I also hate when people are behind me, i'm going the speed limit and they still feel the need to floor it just to pass me, only to have to stop at the stop sign 1 block away.

I was working on a great tank, with the MFD showing 58.6 mpg over 240 miles, when I dropped the car off to have the TRD performance springs installed. When I picked the car up they had put three miles on (not a biggy) but the MFD was down to 55.2 mpg. Dang. :(

That was some fairly inefficient driving they were doing.
