I have seen some Trunk Light Mods but just saw the JDM Toyota version, Jealous...

I tried finding a source and would have better luck if I can read Japanese. Does anyone know if this is purchase. I tried the typical Sigma/Nigel/JDM parts search with out success.

I originally found it on Japanese Toyota website, If someone can read Japanese and see if we can do a direct buy, I have not see the normal suppliers for JDM parts carry this item.

FYI the translate feature on it only works so much...

especially if they asks for 300 anyways, obvious DIY too

Forward the link to [email protected] and maybe Nigel can source and import it for us.

If you can get the parts, I'd be interested in doing a group buy if possible. This looks pretty cool.

Its cheaper than Nigel on ebay. You are paying for him to import it and then mark it up more. Go Direct.

I contacted Nigel and was quoted 450.00, yeah, no way...

DIY for sure, I am thinking max 100 and can get good quality LEDs, high output maybe even a heatsink in there, neutral white, a company like exledusa could get this going too.

I put in a led light in my trunk light. It was pretty straightforward.

The details are at LED's to replace OEM lights - my experience so far | PriusChat

You will want a 27mm festoon adapter. If you don't have one, you get to solder wires to the metal of the light. One piece of metal is really easy to solder to, and the other one is likely steel and impossible to solder to. By going DIY it cost me $2.99. Don't do any soldering inside the trunk, as the carpeting melts at low temperature and will retain splashed solder...

With 12 5050 LEDs, the light is brighter than stock. I suspect it will last the life of the car.
