A nod to NineScorpions in this thread: Get on Fuelly! Track your MPG's...support the community | PriusChat

So many folks with various generations of Prii ask about their mpg's... best way is to join in and see what others from this site are able to get, as well as others. You can friend others to see how they are doing (done this with F8L and others on here that are role models in getting the most mpg's).

The stats are unbelievable. When you check-in after signing up you get a snapshot of how you are doing.

In the listing of the car(s) you post you get to see stuff like mine: The Grey Ghost (Toyota Prius) | Fuelly

Add to that you help elevate the Prius Clan from being stuck in the #6 position for as long as I have been a member on Fuelly. Lets see what we can do to elevate the Prius Gen I, Gen II, and Gen III cars in to one of the top five spots....

What better way to show Prii Pride than at least take over from the Honda Accord? Some members have taken the time to add their Prius with lots of fill-ups to Fuelly. We thank them for the effort. But you can start with your next one.

I know I would like to see the VW Golf taken down a couple of notches. Their stats are very skewed by the TDI's. We rock against the TDI's from VW in real world city and highway driving.

I'm there and still recording mpg. I just use two "different" cars to represent my 2012. I use one for tracking mpg with 15" wheels and another car for when I have 17" wheels installed. :)

I think Fuelly is great. I used to write my fuel purchasing stats in a little notebook after every fill up. Now I just text 3 pertinent data points and the website does the rest.

If you have an iPhone (and maybe an Android phone as well), you can make Fuelly behave just like an app for recording your fill ups. I've done this for two years now and it works really well. The illustrated explanation is here:

Great news folks, we have broken in to the top five listing for the first time IIRC - though only by two cars. But it is a start. :)

Iwill admit that is killing me trying to recover from the low mpg tanks I registered while the car was new.mtestimg and rain storms really destroyed my mpg. lol

Hear you there. Wish I knew more about how to best drive the Prius for the way I drive to get the most mpg's. It has taken a couple of months or so to get the hang of nursing the best mpg's. None of the extreme hypermiling stuff. Just common sense driving.

The problem with sites like Fuelly is that you feel so guilty when you have low mpg.

Look at mine... I am still having a problem just keeping my MPG above 40 and seeing others who seem to get much higher ones with little trouble.

Hi Keiichi -- not sure how long you've driven a hybrid -- so you may know all of this, but just in case check out this video. Learn pulse & glide techniques and you will easily be up in the 45mpg in no time. Also, inflate your tires to 40/40 or 42/40. As long as your max sidewall pressure is 40 or 42 of course.
