    Bulle,

I recently had to format my unit and reload, that I found on this site, but I can't seem to figure out how to fix the navigation to load. Can you help me with that?

    Thanks,
    Eric

    You need the following:
    - make sure your SD card has the iGO8 folder; and there should be the program iGO8.exe inside
    - go to Apps-Options-System and check if the Navigator path is set to this program
    - if not, browse to this program, select it and it should set the Navigator path
    - press the Navi button; navigation should load

    Thanks Bulle,

I forgot to rezip the branding file when i changed the loading.bmp file. But I figured it out. You guys do some amazing stuff. Do you know if there is an update or something to get the radio to startup when the system starts up.

    Very easy.
Just power off your car with the radio turned on.
Should come back exactly where it was next time you start the car.
    Works for me.

Interesting new skins from RR sent to our German friends...
Not tested; but they look nice. Version 0.5 (so you may have to convert if you have GUI 2.78.10)

    File is here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/63503986/Toyota2FlySkins.zip

    Enjoy.

    Fly: interesting concept.

    Another Interesting bit.
It turns out that the 2 game icons available in the RRUI screens can be enabled by editing the config.ini file in \StaticStore\I9.
All you need to do is to change the 1 in this line to a 0

    no_game= int,1

    to

    no_game= int,0

    and voila!

The game icons will now appear in the Home or Apps menu.
If they don't appear right away, you need to select them by editing the skin icons position.
    (see FAQ first post)

Now that the game icons are enabled, you know where they are pointing:

[IMG]The path for this one is: \Storage Card\Games\tractor.exe

[IMG]The path for the other one is: \Storage Card\Games\Genadrive.exe

So now you can install your favorite program and rename it to either one.
Might be handy for some cutomizing.

There are other parameters in this config.ini files...
May be we should eventually experiment with this.

Do you think it is possible to modify strings? for example, when the bluetooth connects with the cell show a image of a bluetooth icon instead of the name of the cell ? or edit texts from some strings.. or maybe add some strings...

    Hello Slp,

I believe Strados on China-RNS has answered your question.
I would also suggest before you try anything exotic to find out from your dealer if he can provide the OS firmware.
Oh and ask for the MCU firmware at the same time as this is very specific to your unit; you might need it some day.

    Good luck.

    Hello Rapa,

    TO MODIFY STRINGS
yes, it's possible to modify some of the strings but not through the tool or editor.
Strings for RDS are stored in the manager.exe file.
The other strings are mainly stored in the lang.dll file.
You will have to use a binary or hexadecimal editor to edit those files.
And be careful! These are executables so you need to change only the letters and nothing else.
(I suggest you do full backup of your unit memory and sd card before doing any of this.
Also make sure you have the necessary OS and MCU software in case of problems when rebooting...)
This we have done many times here and it's easy to do if you know what you are doing.

    TO ADD STRINGS
You can use the RRUIeditor and add text fields to any screen.
You can pick a string you don't really need and then, using the technique above, you can change it to anything you want.
I have never done it this way but it should work.

TO DISPLAY IMAGES INSTEAD OF STRINGS
Some of the strings in the system are actually icons or small images; like the Pause, Forward and Backward symbols.
These are stored in the font ttf files.
You will need to find a ttf editor and add your own icons in the font file.
Then using the RRUI editor, you can change the Bluetooth (or any other) text field to point to your own icon.
Again, I have never done this; it should work but it's a bit more complicated process.

If you ever decide to do any of this, please post your results!

ok, all works. what i did was i flash the wince os with EN-PRIMA-ARM-SLC-V1.51 got from this same forum, but system originaly came with 1.53 but system works perfect. i couldn't play my Samsung tablet GT-1000 bluetooth music before, but with this OS bluetooth music ok. so 1.51 is better and faster than 1.53, after that my original shell came with 2.83.5 but using CECMD.exe i installed the GUI_I9_I10_2.86.3_Beta (again got from this forum) that's all i did everything back to normal. thanks to this forum i saved US$1000. otherwise i had to garbage the system. and the NAVi didn't come originaly with Freelander it was a after market roadrover set but lot of people install it for freelander. now i'm not worried to mess with the system since i have all the updates i have.
