What goes in the left corner of the trunk?

If I lift the carpeting on the left side of the trunk and lift the panel, there is a black box with a threaded stud sticking up. There is no fastener on this stud.

I am thinking this may be the mount for the flux capacitor, an option I chose not to get :(

What is supposed to be on this stud, the stealer can't seem to find it in the parts list <sigh>.

    Thanks!

If you can remove the box under the cover, the retainer to hold the box in place is missing. Other than that, the box holds up the other end of the cargo cover when you store it under the floor.

Thanks .. and the retainer is a plastic wing nut or what?

Wait you mean that thing that looks like a window shade can be put under the carpeting? I need to look at that as there is no sense having it hanging there flapping in the wind!

    Cheers

Yes, there is a tall plastic nut that goes on that stud. You can push it on or turn it on.
The cargo cover does indeed store under the hatch floor. Pay attention to the "TOP" labels on each end of the cargo cover.

There's a philips head screw holding down the retainer that holds down the black box in my car.
If you remove the back cover and the little box cover, you'll see the slots that the ends of the cargo cover fit in.
