    Fixed. Thanks for reminding me.
Not yet. I've requested the capability from the developers. Not sure if/when it will be implemented, though.
Not yet. My suggestion is to use your signature to list your Prii right now.

It is really easy to add the Add-on for BBCode.

You can also use the \[PRE\] code for spaced columns. Or it appears the google docs are imported in a frame. (doesn't appear to work right)

    [PRE]Column 1 Column 2 Column 3
    Cell 1 Cell 2 Cell 3[/PRE]

    [PRE]col1 col2 col3
    words go here[/PRE]

Tables work if you take HTML code and replace the < and > with brackets.

    Column 1
    0 [TR][TH]This is a header cell.[/TH][TH]header2 cell.[/TH][TD]This is a standard cell in a table.[/TD][/TR][TR][td]another row[/td][/TR][TR1][TD]This is a standard cell in a row with a white background.[/TD][TD]Another cell.[/TD][/TR1]

I tried on a Mac using textedit unsuccessfuly:

    Made a table in TextEdit;
    Saved as html;
Opened table in Chrome (formats correctly)
Viewed in code form, copied the table from <table> to </table>
Paste in TExtedit, replaced <> with [ ].

Text copied into Priuschat. No parsing, just treated as text.

I have no idea what the html code looked like.. But the first <table> can't have anything but \[TABLE\\]

Copy and pasted from a html, but I see the extra returns add a bunch of fake space above the table.

    Here is the code:

    Code:
    [table]
      [tr]
        [td]Table Cell[/td]
        [td]Table Cell[/td]
      [/tr]
      [tr]
        [td]Table Cell[/td]
        [td]Table Cell[/td]
      [/tr]
    [/table]

    Column 1
    0 [tr]
    1 [td]Table Cell[/td]
    2 [td]Table Cell[/td]
    3 [/tr]
    4 [tr]
    5 [td]Table Cell[/td]
    6 [td]Table Cell[/td]
    7 [/tr]

    Heh,
Looks to me like the html has to only include a *very* limited set of tags to convert. Maybe only
    table
    td
    tr

Here is a little more info on the "freeze" problem I have with the new software. I still have XP/IE8. Every restart of computer leads to freeze of IE8 on my first Prius Chat post of the day. I then terminate and restart IE8 and it is then OK until the next computer restart.

That is very odd. I'll see if I can find out anything about it.

    I notice that
    Code:
    [post=nnnnnnn]...[/post]
tagging in existing posts is now broken. That's too bad because a lot of useful content is in links between posts (the wiki will be better, but interthread/interpost linking was the best we had, and without it we'll have more of a chore to track down old info to use in the wiki).

    1. Did post numbers change in the migration, or would they all still be right if we could just get the
    Code:
    [post=nnnnnnn]...[/post]
    syntax to work again?

    2. Assuming the numbers are still right, would it be hard to get that syntax to work again?

    Thanks,

    -Chap

Just got back from a long trip, so apologies if I'm repeating things that have already been said. But:
    • The speed improvement is welcome.
    • There's too much blank space in short posts. The member info should go next to the avatar, not below it, so more posts fit on a screen.
    • Square avatar cropping - sigh.
    • Lost all my thread subscriptions, and some of the old smileys don't work any more.
I guess a lot of that is normal for a transition. But I hope the blank space issue is addressed.

Edit: OK, the member info is disappearing in this thread, but not in the others. Wazzup?

Can you link to a post that is like that? I think I can fix those references.

    RE: Member List

There doesn't appear to be a way to jump to a much higher page than
what you're on-- anything higher than the 2 or 3 page-number buttons
    shown.

There are 4300+ pages in the list. Getting to the right page for a name
beginning with P in 2 page increments goes beyond tedious...

'Odious' has about the right flavor.

Oh if only I had no fear of insulting people I do have respect for....

I'd probably whine, and say I simply do not like this incarnation of Prius Chat as much as the old Prius Chat.

It's nothing technical. But the old version seemed larger, more colorful and more dynamic and "alive". This incarnation? Is like visiting a baby blue outlined spread sheet.

But I believe this is here to stay. I'm not against fighting battles I can't win, or maybe shouldn't even win...so I won't say anything. But I miss the Ol' Prius Chat....

I view at a high resolution, 1920x1200 and have huge off white columns on the left and right of my screen because the background is close to white which is what the center posting column is.

I mentioned to Danny quite some time ago, the background color should be something like a blue which could match or be close to the blue at the top of the page.

I don't mind the software, but it does need more color besides just the blue at the top, IMO.

For color -- less is more.

Paradox -- all websites get optimized for a specific window size. It sounds like you are just giving this site to much of your screen. I am happy using a window about 1400 pixels wide.

    Aux. Battery Question | PriusChat

Does the 2002 have a chip in the key? | PriusChat

    It turns out
    Code:
    [thread=nnnnnn]...[/thread]
references are also broken. There's one here:

Center dash lights out | PriusChat

I hope both of those reference styles can be made to work again.

Now, in the wiki, will it be possible to include references like that back to forum threads and posts? How about references in forum posts to wiki pages?

    Thanks,
    -Chap

The "link" icons are grayed out. You can just paste in a link, but the icons were working a couple of days ago.

Nope, this version just does not work as well as the older one did for marking posts read. I've confirmed this over and over. The old system was better in this regard.

I guess. I don't see threads I've read or messages in threads I read. Don't know that the software can do more than that.

I click What's New. It shows me threads with new messages in them since I last logged on If it's a thread I've read, it takes me to the first unread (new to me) message. If I read the thread, it's off the What's New the next time I click it.

When clicking on thread links it takes me to the end of the thread: not most useful as I then have to go back to start and work down to know what's happening.
    Looks good though :), thanks.

It's caching the page. Browser cache. Page caching. I'm not sure how many other ways I can tell you guys that your browser is retaining the old page if you press "Back". :sneaky: Just Click "What's New" again and it will bring up fresh data.
Tom - it looks like they don't show up until you highlight some text. That is working as expected.
Are you clicking the link next to "Latest:"? That will take you to the last post in the thread. Just click the forum title to go to the latest unread post for you.

Did you guys notice the added smilies?
