I have been unable to sync my contacts from my iphone 4s to the prius system. Even the service manager could not do this. Any hints?

have you tried making your I phone discoverable? My v3 couldn't find my i phone until I did that and then it tranfered everything including my contacts. If you go to the bluetooth option on your I phone and press bluetooth you should get a screen telling you your phone is now discoverable.

Can you make and receive calls?

If not, your phone isn't paired correctly. You need to properly pair it with the car. gwoodward's post above gives some info about this.

If you can make and receive calls, how do you know that the contacts have not synced?

Do you have a regular Prius (aka liftback) or a Prius v wagon?

Only thing that you get is the Phonebook. The contacts info is lost in translation on Toyota's end. A few of the contacts info may be in format the Prius can read but most are not. Look for postings from Jon Lancaster Toyota. One of their sales guys explains it all in good instructional video.

You should get your Phonebook and, if you get mobile hotspot option for your iPhone it will work via Bluetooth seamlessly via wireless giving you traffic, Bing, Pandora via internet and your tunes and books for the iPhone's Pod player.
