I have been looking for a 2012 Pri 3 with solar roof option. All the regular/original/normal pri seem to be in short supply, and haven't seen any Seaglass Pearl in this area yet. I was hoping to see one "live" to get a take on the color. It would probably be my second choice for color, which are limited for me for 2012. Toyota seems to be behind since coming out with the v and c models.

I love the red color also but I was afraid to get it since it seems to stand out so much. I worry about it when I have to park the car in the city. The Seaglass Pearl stands out less.

Well, tomorrow I'm going to be standing out, and I can't wait! Just got a call that my car is coming from Tennessee, and will be ready tomorrow. Really, it only took a week, but it felt like three.

Just purchased a Prius IV for dealer list ($1,574.76 below MSRP). Persevere!

I just traded a blizzard pearl 2011 for a blizzard pearl 2012 but the '12 has black accent on front and black wheels. It also has bluetooth and navigation with backup camera. Has everyone noticed that the windows on the '12 slow when they get near the top?

Yes, we have noticed that the windows slow when they get near the top. My son thought that that was pretty cool.

Picked up my new Prius 4 in Sea Glass pearl on Friday. I was still a bit apprehensive about the color until I saw it in the sunlight.
My wife had not seen it at all until Friday. I told her i'd like her to say either "yes or no" on the color when she sees it.
After she saw it she said WOW. ...and then yes....yes....yes.
I felt the same way. What a great color!
Car doesn't drive too badly either. Love the solar powered moon roof and the MPH/navigation/ display on the windshield.

After a nice cleaning, sealant, and wax job your Sea Glass Pearl will look even better.
    Looks kind of creamier almost.
Seems to bring out a bit of the blue-ish tone.

Shouldn't a brand new car be delivered waxed and cleaned?

mmcdonal - Griot's Garage #4 polish, Wolfgang 3.0 (synth) sealant, Pinnacle liquid souverein wax (2 hrs work)

bob N. - yes a new car will look very shiny and clean BUT...theses cars come from Japan, they sit in lots all over the country and are delivered to local regions all over the country from there and then to local dealers. I think they probly have a plastic covering on them that they remove (dealer prep, you see it on cars that are being transported on trucks on the freeway) once at the dealer. But really there is a guy that peels it off, washes it with who knows what and then they throw a very fast and easy spray polish on it. Yes, once again, it will look shiny but has no real long-term protection on the paint surfaces. Not only does the Prius have a high resale value due to the type of vehicle and the brand but why not add on to that value by keeping it looking good. The future cleaning of the car will be much easier too. This time of year pollen and other contaminants from trees and such cover your paint. Now and again one might get a bucket full of water & detergent from the kitchen and go over it with a ratty old sponge. In this (very general) case you are now grinding all of those contaminants into and onto the paint until they all come off. Much like the example of the razor blades edge that seems/looks really sharp until you see it magnified 10 times. Then it looks pretty nasty. Paint surfaces are the same principal. We all have seen a 10 year old car that has been well taken care of, it's obvious. Doesn't take that much more time to get it in good shape then it takes very little time to clean it after that. Water just rolls off my car, Bugs, bird poop, and other stuff is easily wiped from the paint. And it shines like a mofo!

Picked up my 2012 Sea Glass Pearl Two last week. Love it. Fantastic color, really stands out from the thousands of black/white/silver cars on the road. Comfortable & quite ride. Very roomy inside and reasonable acceleration for a high mpg car. Am really enjoying playing my iPod through the dashboard display. Not to mention, currently reading 51.0 mpg on the first half tank of gas. (Yes, I know the real mpg value is somewhat lower.)

Misty gray. Nice to be a member of the MPG club, after several years of "Prius-envy."

Should these three products be put on in this exact order in your estimation ?

Yes bob N. / the #4 polish is extremely mild (as far as abrasives go) and will do not much more than give your paint a nice shine. After that apply a top-grade sealant such as Wolfgang 3.0. With a shiny clean surface the sealant goes on very easy and wipes off easily as well. Most of these synthetic sealants need time to cure so leave it alone, no water on it, minimal sun but warm for 4 hours to overnight (as per instructions from manufacturer). Then apply a nice carnuba based or other wax to "top it off". I would like to mention that I would normally wash well & "clay" the surface before a polish. Now you've got a buttery-smooth surface to work with. After spending a couple hours doing these things you will find that your regular car washing and such will be so much easier and take less time. The beauty of detailing a car is that it's very rewarding immediately. The more you do the nicer it gets and the better you feel about what you're doing. Kind of like making a quick run to the store and the computer in the Prius "rewards" you (and keeps you trying to get better) with a nice little mpg "pat on the back".
We have 2 choices in life: we can make it easier or we can make it harder.

I took your advice and gave it the 5 part treatment you suggested and I was amazed with the results. It not only looks gorgeous but no bugs stick to the front of the car with this superb finish. I didn't think that was even possible but 4 hundred miles later, NO BUGS. I never did all 5 steps to a car befoRe and I realized this is the best coating I ever had on any car in my life.
    Thanks for your suggestion.
