Help Me Pick New Tires, Please!

I only have about 1800 miles on the Yokohama tires that came on my 2012, but I'd like to switch them out for something quieter. I've read all of the tire threads here, and I'm still having a hard time deciding.

The largest considerations for me are noise, handling on wet pavement (I live in Portland), and fuel economy. Tread wear is not as important.

I think I've narrowed it down to these three, and maybe in this order:
1) Bridgestone Ecopia EP422
2) Michelin Energy Saver A/S
3) Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max

If you were choosing between these three tires, which would you choose and why? Or would you go a different direction entirely?

 

I'm not totally evangelical regarding fuel economy. I'm getting an average of around 54 - 55 MPG now, with some trips up into the 60's. I like bragging to my friends, but it's not my chief concern.

I listed my criteria in order: noise, handling on wet pavement, fuel economy, tread wear.

I'll take a look at the Hankooks. Thanks for the suggestion!

Energy Savers on - apparently they had them in stock.

Wow! It's so quiet! I can actually hear myself think.

 

They did. I was adamant. I'm curious about what would have been different, though? Other than the price. And the tread wear.

Too soon to tell. I drove for maybe 60 miles yesterday, and it seemed about the same. The car reported 57.4 MPG for the longest leg.

The plot grows thicker as well. The Place (which shall remain nameless) said they were putting on Energy Saver A/S. They charged me for A/S. The work order said A/S. I was in a hurry, and believed them (that will teach me). I got home, looked at the sidewall, and found NON-A/S. By that time The Place was closed, and they are not open on Sunday.

I debated what to do. I might have just left the summer tires on, except I live on a hill and sometimes we do get snow, even when the valley just has rain. Reading some of the reviews I found in various places convinced me that this just might not be the best tire for me, and I'd be more comfortable with the all-season version. That being said, the summer version rides and handles great.

So, this morning I called The Place and they checked their records. Sure enough, they put the wrong tires on and The Guy at The Place admitted it. There followed the Great Tire Hunt. Energy Saver A/S could not be found. Continental ProContact - ditto. Michelin Defenders were not yet released in 195/65/15. I was about to give up and just keep the tires, when The Guy from The Place called and said he'd located a set of A/S in another state, they were on their way, and as soon as they get here The Place will swap the non-A/S tires out for the A/S, at no charge to me.

Then I'll be able to do some real testing.

In the mean time, I'll keep track of my daily commute - which is the largest part of my normal driving - and I'll report back how the summer tires do. There may be sun belt residents who are interested.

 

BTW, as I was poking around looking at tires, I watched a video on Youtube about the Defender. A woman from Michelin said that the Defender will replace Harmony and HydroEdge, so perhaps the Energy Saver A/S will become available again.
