    Hi All,

Just picked up a 2012 Prius Five, after some idiot totaled out my 2002 Camry. BTW, the old Camry protected very well and I had no injury to report, considering the driver door was the point of impact.

So I was toying around with my upgraded nav, trying to find the avoid toll roads option (I live close to one and do not use it, Prius would probably do better with slower driving anyway), and could not find it.

After reading Toyota's online tutorials, it seems to me that the 6.1" Standard Nav has that setting, but no the 7.0" HDD unit?

Am I overlooking this? This would seem to be a gross oversight with their software department, as the $99 cheapo unit from Walmart has that feature. Can anyone confirm? TIA.

The gps in my standard PiP is a piece of junk. My $130 garmin is better in every way. That is why it is attached to the front side window, and I ignore the factory GPS. All of the software related to the radio seems like it was done by morons.

You need to edit the Routes. When you are in route, click Route button and select what is available for Preferred, Alternate, or Short and turn off tolls.

Do I need to do this every time or can I set it as a global preference for Preferred Route, etc?

I am not sure, I think it remembers the setting. I think there also may be a way to set this up in the SETUP screen for Navigation, but I don't recall spcifically.

Hey it worked. I think the setting stayed too! Sweet. Thanks.
